“Not quite.“ Alex looks back at me, raising an eyebrow. Good. I want to see his face when I tell him.
“Growing up with money obviously turned you into an arrogant, egotistical person. So I’m cutting you off until you learn how to treat people with respect. Especially the people I care about. That’s why I asked you here.“
He gapes at me, lost for words. His fiancée looks at him and despite the botox her forehead wrinkles. She must be really distressed. “Please tell me that you have money of your own, Alex.“ He stays silent. It seems that answers her question. “Well, in that case, we’re done Alex. Goodbye.“ She walks away, her high-heels clicking on the pavement.
“Meghan. Wait.“ Alex sounds desperate, but she ignores him and continues walking until she’s out of sight. He looks at me beseechingly, but he can tell by the look on my face that I’m serious.
“Screw you,“ he mutters, before walking away. I turn to look at Amber, whose gray eyes are wide.

Amber
My head is spinning, thoughts chasing each other through my mind like a dog chasing its own tail. He cut Alex off because of me. My heart pounds in my chest. No one has ever stood up for me. Not like this. And he called me his girlfriend. Did he really mean it? He’s staring at me, looking almost uncertain.
“Are you okay, Amber?“
I nod. “It’s just… Alex is your son.“
Connor sighs. “He is. And I love him. What I don’t love is the person he’s turned into. I hope he’ll learn his lesson this time.“ He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear and smiles down at me. “Besides, I can’t let him treat my girlfriend like that.“
So he really meant it. “Your girlfriend, huh? Don’t I get a say in that?“ I ask, teasing him. His smile broadens into a grin. “Do you have any objections?“
“None that I can think of right now.“ I lean forward, brushing my lips against his. “So, does that mean I should change my relationship status on social media?“ His warm breath tickles my face as he huffs out a laugh. “Definitely. The world needs to know that you’re mine, princess.“
“And you’re mine.“
His eyes light up at my words, and the happiness on his face is the most beautiful sight I’ve ever beheld. I want to kiss him, I want to feel his naked body pressed against mine. I want to lose my virginity to him, sooner rather than later. I’m about to tell him just that when he points at the building next to us.
“Talking to Alex wasn’t the only reason I brought you here. I want to show you something.“
He walks towards the building in front of us, taking a key out of his pocket. I trail after him, wondering why we’re here. He unlocks the glass door and we step inside. The room is large and bright, the row of windows letting in the sunlight. But it’s completely empty. I glance at Connor, raising an eyebrow. He clears his throat. “What you said yesterday about wanting to own a bakery one day, it got me thinking, and… Well, I thought this would be perfect. There’s still some work to be done, obviously. But it’s yours if you want it.“
I gape at him. I can’t possibly accept his offer. And yet, part of me is already imagining what it would look like once finished. The display of baked goods, the scent of cinnamon buns mixing with freshly ground coffee. Customers waiting in line or sitting in brightly colored armchairs, waiting patiently because they just can’t resist my treats…
“What do you think, princess?“
“This is incredibly kind of you, Connor. But I can’t accept it. It’s too much.“
He sighs, running a hand through his silver-streaked hair. “I thought you might react like this.“ He takes an envelope out of the inside of his jacket pocket. “This is the deed. It has your name on it. You don’t have to do anything with it, but if you don’t, this building will stay empty. And that would be a shame, wouldn’t it?“
Despite myself, a smile tugs at my lips. “That would be a shame.“
“Or you could accept it and fulfill your dream.“
“Well, when you say it like that, there’s really only one choice, is there?“
His eyes sparkle. “So, what will you be calling your new bakery?“
I pause to think. “What do you think about Dream Bakery?“
Connor’s smile makes my insides melt. “It sounds perfect. Do you want to have a look at the kitchen?“
I shake my head. And then, with my heart beating painfully fast, I tell him what I really want. “No. I want to go to your place and finish what we started yesterday. I want you to take my virginity.“ I can feel myself blush. But I can’t wait any longer. And when Connor’s eyes darken and he lets out a soft moan, I know I’ve made the right choice.

Connor
Not ripping off her clothes and taking her right here and now is torture. But I won’t take Amber’s innocence in the limousine. I want her first time to be perfect. A virgin… The thought alone makes me hard. I’ll be the first to take her soft, curvy body. I’ll claim her as mine. When she places her hand on my thigh, I have to suppress a moan. She has no idea what her casual touch does to me. Or maybe she does, because she’s looking at my crotch, a wicked smile on her angelic face. “You won’t be smiling like this much longer, princess.“
“Why not?“
I lean in close, my lips brushing against her ear. “Because soon enough, I’ll have you screaming my name.“
She blushes, and when she speaks, her voice sounds husky. “I can’t wait.“
When we finally arrive at my penthouse, I don’t even wait for the driver to open the door. My need is so urgent, it eclipses everything else. I lead Amber to the elevator, and once the doors close, the air almost crackles with electricity. When she bites down on her plump bottom lip, never taking her eyes off mine, my self-control crumbles. I pull her roughly against my body and cover her mouth with mine. I lick over her lips, wanting her to open her mouth, wanting to taste her. When our tongues touch, a shudder runs through my body. My hands wander under her top, exploring her smooth, warm skin. I’ve almost reached her breasts when the elevator doors open. “Let’s take this to the bedroom, princess.“
