“Well, go after him, Carl!” I practically shout.
For months we’ve tried finding Cameron, and now here he is, right in front of us, and Carl isn’t budging.
“I can’t leave you. This could be a setup. Call the boys now.”
“Car—”
“Now, Charlotte!”
I release my gun and feel for my phone instead. When it’s gripped in my hand, I pull it out and dial Julius’s number. Before the call can even connect, a truck drives by, cutting off our line of vision for a moment as it passes. When its trailer is out of the way, Cameron is no longer standing in the spot he was.
“Charlotte?” I hear Julius’s question.
“Jules… We have a problem.”
