“I guess…I don’t know. Ashton and I aren’t sleeping together anymore anyway.” It had been short and fun. So much fun but now that I found the two men who did everything for me and more, I was addicted. I should call them. Or text them at least.
“I’ll have to meet these two guys. Again. When I’m sober.” Gigi laughed. “If they were able to get you off of Ashton’s dick, that’s saying something.”
I coughed. “Who are you and what have you done with my sister?” Gigi normally didn’t swear or do anything that would be considered bad for her. She had wine every now and again or beer, like the night before.
“Yeah, yeah.” She finished stretching. “So, tell me about them.” She waggled her eyebrows.
I laughed. “They’re nice. They took care of me and were gentlemen.” Until I got them in bed that is.
“Good. I’m glad.” Gigi grabbed her mug from the table and headed to the sink. “I’ll be going to the center if you want to join me.”
“Sure.” The Dove Project had been created by all of our moms when they were our ages. It was to help human trafficking victims. It helped them get jobs, schooling, shelter, and family. No one was turned away. No matter the gender or age, everyone was welcome. The center had grown so quickly, our fathers ended up expanding the place. It sat on the outskirts of town and was well-known by the surrounding cities and towns.
As Gigi and I stepped out of the house and into the late morning sun, my phone rang.
Gigi paused in her steps. “Who is it?”
I glanced at the display, frowning. “Hey,” I said, answering the phone.
“You free, babe?” Ashton asked. “Aiden wants some of that weed we smoked a week ago. Or maybe it was longer. I can’t remember.”
“I don’t have any on me.” Truth was, I hadn’t smoked weed in a few days. And I hadn’t even thought of it. “And besides, my contact won’t take money from me anymore.”
“The fuck? Meadow, you selling your body for that shit?”
I rolled my eyes. “Listen, I appreciate you getting all protective but no. I’m not selling my body.” As much as I loved weed, I would never stoop to that level just to get it.
Gigi raised an eyebrow.
“My dad would kick my ass if I did that.” I continued walking to Gigi’s car with her following beside me. “But listen, Gigi and I are heading to The Dove Project. Aren’t you guys doing some work there?”
“We just finished,” Ashton said. “We were going to come over.”
“Gigi told me. You guys are done working already?” I stopped at the passenger side to Gigi’s little beater of a car.
“Yeah, we’re fast, baby.”
I laughed. “I’ve known you guys my whole life. You’re not fast at anything. Especially if you’re getting paid by the hour.”
Ashton chuckled. “True. Listen, you can come over and we can have a little party of our own.”
“Sorry, handsome. I’m not Piper. I don’t want you both.”
Ashton’s laugh deepened. “Aiden has shit to do. And I wouldn’t invite him anyway.”
“You want me all to yourself?” My thoughts traveled back to the night before and this morning. “Listen,” I said before Ashton could respond. “You know this is over. You said so yourself.”
“Yeah.” He sighed. “I know. I’m not the brightest it seems.”
“You’ll find someone. I know you will.”
“And so will you, Meadow.”
My body heated at the two someones who had invaded every inch of me only hours before. “We’ll see you guys later. You are still coming over right?”
“When do we not come over?”
“True. See you tonight.” I disconnected the call before I could get anymore flirting from him.
