“I like when you get feisty and protective over me,” Alec whispers in my ear before taking the lobe into his mouth and sucking. I moan and try to push closer.
“Oh, shit. This I do not want to see,” Landon says, and I pull back, burying my face in Alec’s chest out of embarrassment. I feel Alec’s chest shake as he laughs, and I can’t help but smile.
“Come on, baby. I’ll walk you to the library and sit with you while you study,” he says, taking my hand and walking toward the school doors.
“You’re not going to the gym?” I ask, worried about him skipping.
“Nah, me and the gym coach made a deal at the beginning of the school year,” he says.
“Oh, what was the deal?” I ask, curious.
“He’d pass me even if I didn’t show up to class, as long as I didn’t tell his wife about his weekly visits to the trailer park,” he explains, smirking.
“Why would he have a weekly…” I start, but Alec’s raised brow has me stopping. “Ohhhhhhh…That kind of meeting..” I say, blushing when it finally clicks.
Alec laughs at my reaction as we head to the library.
“We’ll catch you both later,” Joey says before the guys break off and we head down the halls.
We hear shocked gasps and whispers the whole way to the library. I hold on to Alec’s hand tighter and keep walking with my head held high. These snobs might be shocked to see us together, but I’m damn proud to be with Alec. Whoever thought dreams would come true?
“If it bothers you, I can…” he starts, but I want him to know I couldn’t care less what they are saying and whispering about.
I know one way to really show him that, so in the middle of the hall, I stop dead for the whole school to see. I turn to Alec, stand on my toes, pull his head down to mine and kiss him as hard and as passionately as I can. I may have gotten a bit carried away, but Alec has that effect on me. When I feel his hands snake down across my ass, I even whimper again, knowing he feels it too. I hear catcalls that instantly pop the love bubble I put us in and realize we need to stop before this goes any further.
“You know, you could have just told me it didn’t bother you, but I’m not complaining,” Alec says, grinning widely.
“Yeah, but I wanted you to believe me. I really don’t care what they have to say. I like you. I like you a lot, Alec,” I say, retaking his hand and walking to the library.
“I more than like you, Bailey,” he whispers in my ear, making me shiver. I smile, looking up at him; like I said, dreams do come true.
