“I’m better than okay.” She took his hand in hers. “Tonight was perfect. I got to see a different side of Martin.”
“He wanted to show you a less domineering side. We both thought it would make you more comfortable in the playroom.”
“So we’re going to continue our sessions with him?”
“Only if that’s what you want.”
“There’s much more he can show us, isn’t there?”
“There are a few more things I’d like to explore.” He stroked her cheek. “You’ll like what we have planned.”
“Did I please you tonight?”
He’d allowed her this time with another man. It was in a controlled setting with someone he trusted very much, but she wondered just how difficult it was for him to share her.
“You always please me,” he replied.
“That’s good to know.”
“Don’t ever doubt what you do for me, sweetheart.” He kissed her softly. “When we got together, it was for a very specific reason, but you’ve changed me. I’ve evolved.”
“We’ve evolved.” She cuddled into his chest. “Together.”
Chapter 15
As the weekend ended, Julian stopped in front of their building. He grinned at Kayla.
“What?” She giggled.
“I like looking at you.” He didn’t think he could be more in love with her than he was in this moment.
The time they’d spent in Martin’s home helped them form a deeper bond with one another. The trust between them had become stronger. She’d left Connecticut with a better understanding of the lifestyle he had introduced her to. Being with Martin in a relaxed setting had given Kayla the confidence she needed to continue with their training. They had much to look forward to.
Julian handed the keys to the valet as the doorman opened Kayla’s door.
“Welcome home,” he greeted them. “I trust you had a good weekend?”
“One of the best.” Julian smiled at Kayla. “But we’re glad to be home.” He took her hand. “Our bags are in the trunk. Can you send them up?”
“Certainly, Mr. Anders,” he replied. “It’s my pleasure.”
“It was a great weekend, wasn’t it?” Her eyes sparkled as they walked into the lobby. “I’ll never...”
Kayla’s words trailed off, or perhaps he didn’t hear them. Once he saw Angelina sitting in the lobby by the elevators, his insides filled with rage. What the fuck is she doing here?
“Julian?” Kayla must have followed his gaze. “Why is she here?”
“That’s a good question.”
“Mr. Anders.” The weekend attendant sitting at the front desk came around to meet them. “Ms. Crowley arrived about an hour ago. She insisted on staying. I told her I didn’t know when you would be arriving home, but she said she didn’t mind waiting for you.”
“Thank you.” Julian nodded. “I’ll take care of it from here.”
“What do you think she wants?” Kayla asked.
“I’m about to find out.” He turned her to face him, knowing he needed to be as delicate as possible with his next request. “Why don’t you head upstairs and get settled? I won’t be long.”
“Not a chance.” She tightened her hold on his hand. “I’m coming with you.”
