He came deep inside her. His hot fluid pumping into her, making her whole, secure, his. He stayed buried in her for a few moments. She couldn’t be sure if it was seconds or minutes, all she knew was their silent bond was necessary, like air.
“Are you okay?” He carefully slipped from her.
“Mmm-hmm.”
“You did very well.” He turned her around and undid the scarves. “I know you were afraid, but the fact that you overcame what was scaring you tells me we can move forward.”
“Thank you.” She smiled because there was a certain satisfaction in hearing him tell her she’d met his expectations.
“You should be proud of your ability to submit.” He kissed both of her wrists, rubbing them before moving up to her arms. “It isn’t an easy thing to just hand over power, especially for a woman as headstrong as you. It proves to me that you can do this.”
“I am proud,” she admitted. “I wanted to please you.”
“You did.” He continued to tend to her tired muscles. “Today was just a taste of what we could have. If you’re still interested, I want to see how far we can take this. What do you say to that?”
“Green.”
“Clever girl.”
“I want to be your girl, Julian. I want you to teach me.”
“Stay the night with me. I’m not ready for you to leave me.”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
She learned from his paperwork that it wasn’t always a given that he’d ask a woman to spend the night. When she came there today, she was fully prepared to leave at his request. She cuddled into his chest, closed her eyes, and let the emotions of the afternoon sink in. She wasn’t ready to let go of him either.

Julian watched as Kayla slept. The sun had set a while ago, but he couldn’t bring himself to wake her. Their afternoon had been easy, maybe not for her, but in the scope of things, he hadn’t given her more than she could handle. He was convinced he could have taken her further.Patience! He had to commend himself for the restraint he’d displayed where she was concerned.
When she came into his club a few weeks ago, he never would have dreamed she’d end up in his bed. Not with that ridiculous application she had submitted. Blake should have turned her away, but for whatever reason, he hadn’t. Blake’s misjudgment was Julian’s gain. He wouldn’t take that twist of fate lightly. The girl he’d admired four years ago had morphed into a woman he could worship. One that he could mold, but not break. She needed limits if she was going to submit to his will. There was a fire in her that couldn’t be extinguished. There weren’t many men in his position that could walk the line to ensure her satisfaction. He would do his best to make sure she never lost that spark.
He smiled down at her when she began to stir. “Hey.” He kissed her temple. “It’s getting late.”
“I fell asleep?” She sat up, stretching her arms and neck. “Sorry.”
“Don’t apologize. If you didn’t need a nap, I did something wrong.”
“You did everything right.” She giggled. “A few times.”
“Stroking my ego will get you everywhere.” He pulled her down to him, propping himself on his elbow. “Stroking other things will also get you everywhere.”
“I’ll bet.” She brushed the back of her hand across his cheek. “I know you had your doubts about me.”
“I was wrong.” He didn’t have a problem admitting that.
“You were probably right.” She stared into his eyes. “I had no idea what I was getting into. If you didn’t invest the time in me, I would have ended up in a situation I may not have liked.”
“Blake does a good job of screening the clients. I don’t think you would have been in danger, but your application was misleading, and I didn’t want you to be matched with someone who wouldn’t have understood that.”
“I wanted my match to be you after that first night in the lounge when we went over my checklist.” She trailed her fingers along his jaw and to his lips. “I’ve wanted you a long time.”
“I like when you touch me.” He kissed her fingertips, being careful not to reveal too much about his prior attraction to her. “You’ve given me a few firsts tonight, so it’s only fair that I tell you I don’t usually let women touch me freely. It’s a control thing, but with you, I’m adjusting.”
“Thank you, because I don’t think I could stop the impulse.”
“Touching.” He grinned. “That impulse I’ll allow, but there are a couple of habits we’re going to have to break.”
