CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

‘UP UP AND AWAY’ DEREK POPE

As we walk into Club Sucia, Dice and my sister immediately begin to dance to the beat of the music pounding through the large club. Of course, my eyes constantly scan everyone around us while also keeping track of Dice’s delicious body.

She moves like a seductress.

Thankfully, the men in the crowd have seen me and my crew, using their brains instead of their dicks and moving from my woman’s path and keeping their eyes off.

We make it to the elevator that will take us to the VIP room.

“Who is waiting on us?” I ask Hector as I wrap my arm around Dice and pull her into my side. She’s a temptress without even realizing it.

“I put the meeting time for an hour after our arrival. Guards have reported back that no one has arrived yet.”

The elevator doors open to a hallway that leads to two doors. One opens to a fire escape stairway on the side of the building and the other leads to the soundproof VIP lounge. I nod to my armed guards at the door and enter the room. The space is big enough for a large group of people, fifty at most, so it’s the best place for this meeting.

The left side of the room is set up with black leather lounge chairs and a few sectionals for group seating. There are tables in front of each with buckles of ice that hold liquor bottles. In the corner, there is a female server waiting for us to utilize her service. Behind her is another door that leads to a restroom.

The right side of the room has a platform with a pole in the middle where a girl is already into her dance routine. She is topless, wearing only a g-string and the wall of mirrors behind her show her bare ass.

Once she sees us enter, she steps off the platform and walks to us, trying to lure us with her swaying hips.

“Welcome to Sucia, I’m—” I turn away from her and guide a tense Dice to the sofa.

“Get her out of here and the server too.” I tell Brian.

Dice immediately thaws and takes a seat, but I pull her onto my lap, bringing my lips to her shoulder for a kiss. And a bite. I can't help myself, she a fucking meal.

I watch Brian lead the complaining women out of the room.

“Did you know there’d be women in here, Leo?” Letty asks as she pours everyone drinks, minus a pregnant Dice.

"They usually have women in here ready for service when the room is booked." Brian says as he takes a drink, "But I specifically said keep the room empty."

"Hector, check for bugs." I say as I slide Dice from my lap and onto the seat beside me.

I stand and pull my gun from my holster and make my way to the restroom. The Reyes Generals have Jefa believing that they could care less if their psychotic Don is dead or not, but the principal of the matter will demand retaliation.

Pride will always guide men.

If they leave it as is it, they'll feel like another man, which would be me, spit upon their legacy. If they take an eye for an eye, or in this case, a Don for a Don, their pride will be pacified. But that's not going to happen.

I kick the door open, not really expecting anyone but not taking a chance anyway. The inside is completely empty. I do a quick search for cameras, even place my finger against the mirror to see if it's truly a mirror or a one-way window. Once everything checks out, I make room for Hector to scan for bugs using his device.

"Everything is clear Mero. Perhaps there was just a mix-up with the women." Hector says but he lacks conviction. There’re no mistakes when it comes to us and our demands. The respect and fear we drive into people keep shit like amix-upfrom happening.

"Make sure the guards are vigilant tonight." I tell Hector who sends the message to the guards inside and outside the building.

Now that we know the room is cleared of bugs and no one is lurking around a corner, we all sit and chat while we wait for our guests. Dice dances a little in her seat to the music playing. It's not loud enough to drown out the conversations going around but I feel like we're in our own little world.

"Do you ever dance?" Dice asks as she drinks her water.

"Ah, no. I don't." I tell her with a chuckle.

"Omigod, Leo. Yes, you do." Letty says with an eye roll, "He use to dance when we were kids, he can even moonwalk like Jackson!" Letty tells Dice.

Everyone laughs as Brian stands to answer his phone.
