“I have a mate,” I tell her straight up.

Her eyes widen. “What! Oh my goodness, really?” She gapes, and a smile threatens my lips.

“Yeah.” I nod. “Her name is Abby.”

“Abby?” her brows furrow as she thinks. “Abby Rider from down the street?”

“Ahh, no.”Do I tell her?I mean, she's going to find out sooner or later. “Abigail Morningstar.”

“Morningstar?” she gasps. “As in... as in.” She looks down at the ground as if saying the devil will summon the man himself.

“The one and only.” I fight a grin threatening its way onto my lips at her reaction.

“I didn’t even know he had kids,” she says, looking away as if she was in thought.

“I think it's just her. But I didn’t really get to talk to her for very long. It was raining, and I walked her home.”

“Is she anything like him?”

“From what I’ve seen, she’s nothing like the rumors we’ve heard about her father. Not one bit.” She’s sweet, funny and her face lights up anytime she talks about something she enjoys. The walk home was too short, I wanted it to last forever so I could hear her talk. She’s got sass that makes my cock twitch. One day she’s gonna sass me, and I’m gonna bend her over my knee, slap her ass and make her moan my name.

“Zed.” She gives me a knowing look. “Don’t scare that poor girl away.”

I give her a mock gasp. “Me? Whatever do you mean?”

She smiles, shaking her head. “I know you. You’ve been wanting a mate since you were just a little boy. Now your dream has come true. You love hard, sometimes a little too hard.”

“Too late.” I shrug, flopping back on the bed. “I’m already obsessed.”

“You’ve been watching her this whole summer, so I’d say so,” she laughs.

I look at her, narrowing my eyes. “How did you know?”

“A mother just knows,” she states, tapping the side of her head. “Bring her home someday, I’d like to meet her.”

“There’s something else you should know. I don’t want you finding out from anyone else.”

“What?” she asks, her tone wary.

“Her mother is married to Michael. She’s living there with Isaac and his friends.”

Rage fills my veins at the pained look on her face. “I didn’t even know Veronica had kids, especially not with the Devil himself.”

“I don’t think you're the only one. Not really something you would broadcast around here,” I comment.

“That poor girl. No mother, being raised by someone so cruel and evil.”

“Like I said before, she’s nothing like him.” I don’t tell her about the fact Abby will be moving home in a few years to rule alongside her dad. I know I just met this girl, but my heart and soul know what they want, and it's her. I’d follow her to Hell if that's what it took to be with her.But can I leave my mother and sister behind?
