“Why didn’t you tell me?” I choke out through the tears. “That I wasn’t going to stay dead.”
 
 “Because I didn’t know. With your magic blocked, I assumed you would not be brought back.”
 
 “Yet you were waiting for me in the prison.”
 
 “I’d hoped,” he explains. “I’d hoped you would come back to me even though I failed to remove the block before you’d died.”
 
 “You should have told me. Rafferty—” Oh. “Rafferty.” I get to my feet. “I need to get back to him.”

 “Not another word from you about this. Not until I find Raffe. If what you’re telling me is true, then I might be the only hope Faerie has, right?”
