“Hey, I have an idea.”

“What’s that?” Joey leans in, hanging on my every word.

“What if I offered your services as part of a package, al la carte, or both? I’m planning on doing showers, weddings, kids birthday parties, that type of stuff. You could work up a contract if you want. I mean, if you want the extra business.”

“That sounds like a really awesome idea.” Joey points to her card in my hand. “Call me. I would love to hear more about it. Maybe we can do lunch or talk it out over dinner?”

“Perfect. I have so many ideas to discuss with you. My brain is already on overload thinking of all the cool themes and things we could collaborate on.”

“Oh, girl, I know the feeling.” She taps her temple. “Hamster are running wild up here right now.”

We both laugh.

“I’ll be sure to bring my laptop so you can see all the designs I’ve done.”

A loud siren scares me half to death. By the look on Joey’s face, her too—until she realizes the noise is coming from her bag.

“I’m going to kill Cole.”

I laugh as she digs around for her phone. It’s not a library, but everyone turns around, wondering who’s making all the racket.

“Not today, cowboy.” She sends it to voicemail and sighs. “Well, I guess I better get home.”

“Understandable.”

“I’m really glad you said something, Beth. I think this could be a very profitable relationship for both of us.” Joey smiles before waving at Larkin. “I gotta go. Someone is in trouble.”

“Not again.” Larkin laughs.

“Yep. See ya!”

Speaking of trouble, I wonder what my new neighbor’s up to.
