“Where we’re goin’, you won’t be needing your fucking shoes.”
My bare tiptoes landed on the smooth concrete garage floor, and I slipped into the passenger seat of his Hemi Dart when he opened the door for me. Raf slid behind the wheel with an earth-shattering smile on his face.
“Prepare yourself, Boss Lady, because this ain’t like anything you’ve ever ridden in before. She’s about to get loud, and later, so will you.”
With a quick flick of his wrist, the car roared to life. The deep grumble of the engine vibrated every bone in my body, and as Raf closely watched my reaction, I couldn’t help the curse of anticipation that fell from my mouth.
“Shit.”

Raf came through for me that afternoon. The cruise down the coast southbound to San Clemente was gorgeous, more so when I tore my eyes from the view and looked over at Raf relaxed in the driver’s seat with an elbow resting on the open windowsill and the other wrist casually slung over the wheel.
A palpable thickness hung in the air around us the entire trip. Judging by the heated glances that roamed over my bare legs every chance he got, he looked forward to getting back as much as I did.
The hours we spent together were effortless and simple, and the invisible restraints of our professional relationship fell away as if they’d never been there to begin with.
Once we got back to his place, he took control and worshiped my body as promised. Every sigh and every moan were as if our spirits spoke a secret language that only they could understand.
When Raf dropped me at my condo later that evening, a satisfying ache lingered between my legs; one that echoed the happiness blooming within my heart.
Spending most of our time together over the past few days had cemented my decisions about the foundation account; it was time to talk to Tian.
Chapter 35
-Greer-
I walked into work bright and breezy the next morning. Roxiee was already going about her Monday morning routine of checking emails and absentmindedly sipping an extra large skinny latte.
“Morning,” I sang, on my way past her desk.
“Morning, babe. Good weekend?”
I couldn’t disguise the titter that escaped my smile. “You havenoidea.”
Roxiee’s eyes widened, and she rushed after me as I entered my office. “Spill the goss already.Pleasetell me Friday night turned into a sexcapade of unforgettable proportions!”
I gave her a look.
“Ooohgirl!”She let out a high-pitched squeal and held up her hand.
I high-fived it, buzzed off her excitement and gave her a tight hug.
She then grabbed me by the shoulders. “I hope that means you’ve got your focus back, because we’re on the countdown to the press release. We’ve got the announcement to finalize and both Colton and Arlo to brief.”
I waved off her intensity. “I’m confident we’ve got everything under control. Besides, we won’t need to worry about Colton; he’s used to the scrutiny. It’s Arlo we need to focus on prepping. Then, after the release, I’ve decided to hand the foundation account over to Tian. I’m too close now that Raf and I are officially dating.”
Rox’s brows hit her mahogany hairline. “That serious? Already?”
I cringed. “It is quick, isn’t it? But…” I waved my hand around. “With him, it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before.”
Her expression softened, and she set a hand on my arm. “You don’t need to justify it to me. I’m just glad you’re happy, hon.”
“I am. Not a word to Tian,” I said hastily, before the man himself waltzed through my door with his hands shoved in the front pockets of his suit pans.
“Morning ladies! How were your weekends?”
Rox tittered while I fought against the heat rising up my cheeks.
