Page 96 of Love Triggered

“Your fear tastes so sweet, little mouse. I can’t wait to be buried deep inside of this little cunt, ripping you wide open with my fat cock. Let’s go—I’ve got places to be after I’ve had my way with you.” He pushes back from my body and releases my neck, to only grab my hair.

The only thing giving me satisfaction right now is seeing him hurting too—the bleeding wound on his thigh where I stabbed him, his fucked up nose, and a few other scattered bruises. It might not be much, but it’s only the beginning.

As he drags me inside by my hair, I fight the entire way, digging my heels into the ground and twisting against his hold, but he doesn’t budge. We finally make our way inside and it’s nothing like I expected. On the inside, there’s barely any furniture besides a couple of chairs in the corners. The lighting is dim in here, making it seem like a dark dungeon. There are weapons spread out along the gray walls, and on a long wood table in the middle of what would typically be the living room. Even though this looks like a home on the outside, it’s more of a military facility on the inside.

We make a hard left, and Harvey pulls me behind him into a small office with a large desk and chair. This room has the most furniture I’ve seen so far but it’s still pretty bare. Whatever he does here, it’s clear this is a place where he doesn’t spend much time.

Dragging me over to a full bookshelf, he removes one of the books to reveal a blue fingerprint scanner. He presses his thumb to it, and the heavy shelf slides open, revealing a set of stairs leading down to a dark basement. Without a word, Harvey pushes me in front of him, forcing me down the stairs. It’s so dark that the only thing I can see is the next concrete stair as I take each step, but the air suddenly shifts, causing my breath to hitch at the cold temperature.

It’s freezing down here, and I can hear the metal pipes rattling in the distance. It’s like the setting of a horror movie, and I’m just waiting for the bad guy to jump out and slice me open... then I remember he’s behind me already.

Finally, I hit the bottom step and Harvey shoves me down the hall to my right. The hallway is small and dark, but I can see a door at the end. As we approach it, my entire body feels stiff. Whatever waits for me behind this door is going to be the death of me. It’ll either be my final reckoning or my new awakening. If I come out of this alive, I’ll be taking anyone and everything out with a vengeance, for the pain that they’ve caused me.

Harvey reaches in front of me to swing the door open. The sight is almost enough to make me collapse. Sitting in the middle of the room is a metal chair, with chains and hooks hanging down from the ceiling. Next to the chains is a silver table covered in shiny knives of all sizes.

I gulp loudly, knowing that even though I feel numb inside, I’m sure that won’t dull the pain Harvey has planned for me.

I’m going to have to fight harder than ever before.

There’s an awful pounding in my head that won’t fucking go away. My eyelids peek open a little, and a bead of sweat rolls right into my left eye. My breathing picks up, the air stinging my lungs. Every gasp of air burns, making it harder to breathe.

Why is it so hot in here? The last I remember, the concrete was cool, but now it’s warm. I don’t hear the yelling, fighting, and chaos that was happening earlier. All I hear now is a weird crackling noise and a few loud bangs.

What the hell?My head feels like it weighs a ton, but I slowly lift it, looking around the room.

All I see is a thick layer of smoke.

It fills the room, and an orange glow shines in through the door from the main entryway. The building’s on fire and the flames are headed straight for me.

Shit! Where is Sutton? Is Lainey okay? Did they get out? Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. This is bad.

I need to get out of here and make sure my angel is safe. Through the throbbing and pounding of my head, I get to my knees, determined not to die in this fucking warehouse. The smoke stings my throat, throwing me into a coughing fit.

Come on, Greyson, you don’t have time for this. Quit being a little bitch and save your girl.

I calm my coughing, slowly making it to my feet. My head’s fuzzy, but I think I can still make it out of here.

As I make it to the doorway, my confidence in getting out of here quickly fades. The main room is full of flames and debris, like the building has been blown up.

Untucking my dress shirt, I pull it up to cover my nose and mouth, trying to block out the heavy smoke. Taking a few steps forward, I look around, trying to plan where to go next.

The smoke stings my eyes, and tears stream down my face, but I tough it out and keep going. There’s a clear path to my right so I take it, quickening my pace.

I fucking hope the others got out. Lainey especially. Wait. What if Lya and the guys got out, but left me for dead? No. No, Lainey wouldn’t let that happen.

A million thoughts swirl around my head, but I get myself focused again. I make it a few yards before a wall of fire cuts me off. The only free path is behind me, but I can’t go back.

Fuck. What am I going to do?

A loud crash sounds behind me, causing me to spin around. Large chunks of the burning roof now lay on the ground, covering my previous path. I can’t go back that way now even if I wanted to.

I have to go forward, through the wall of fire.

It doesn’t look too wide from this angle, so if I can get through fast, I might be okay. Might get singed a bit, but I should be fine.

This is my only choice. I have to do it. I have to get out of here and to get to Lainey.

I promised her nothing bad would happen today, that this would be easy and that Sutton would be dead by now. I fucking failed her. I don’t know if she’s okay. I don’t even know if Sutton is dead or alive.
