“We’ll ensure that does not happen,” I tell him, meaning every word of it. Weston is family, as is his daughter Talia. If my father tries to hurt them, I will stand against him.
Weston doesn’t say anything else because there is nothing else to say. Instead, he steps around us and gestures back at the lieutenant. “He’s all yours.” Kane waits until the door shuts behind us before he moves over to the table of instruments that we can use to gain information from this man.
He picks up a savage-looking knife and twists the blade so it catches the reflection of the bare bulb hanging over our heads. “Do you know who I am?” he asks the man.
“Fuck you.” The man spits the words like they are venom.
Kane doesn’t show any emotion as he flicks the knife out and tears a long gash down the side of his chest. The blood bubbles and trickles down his skin and I watch it, transfixed. I move to the table and pick my own weapon, choosing a small handheld blowtorch. Adrenaline pumps through my veins, creating excitement. I can’t wait to make him suffer.
“Let’s try that again, shall we?” Kane says in an always pleasant voice. That’s when he’s at his most dangerous. Because my brother is never pleasant to outsiders.
Kane stabs the knife into our enemy’s side. The man lets out an uncontrolled wail and throws his head back as he tries to clench his teeth against the pain. He’ll find no reprieve though. Neither Kane nor I will give him any.
“Kane…. You are Kane Fraser,” he hisses out before his eyes find mine. “Which means you are one of his brothers.”
“Lucas Fraser.” I give him a beaming smile, enjoying the way he pales at my name. “You’re going to tell us where your boss is, or we’re going to make you beg for mercy.”
He spits in our direction, but it doesn’t get close. Disgusting cunt.
“Then I guess we do this the hard way.” I moved towards him menacingly and switch on the blowtorch. Then I let my demons out of the box.
