Me:That changes starting now.

I’m going to give her pleasure like she’s never felt before.

Candi:I can’t stop thinking about it. You had me out of my mind.

Me:I had to leave you with something to think about. We’re both so busy the next few weeks.

Candi:I know. We’ll stay in touch and figure out when we’re both home again. I need to get some sleep. I fly out again tomorrow.

Me:Safe travels. Sweet dreams.

Candi:Good night.

Wednesday afternoon, I get a call from my agent. “Vance, hey, what’s up?”

“Are you sitting down? I have a big one for you.” There’s an edge of pride in his tone.

A quick spurt of adrenaline shoots through me. “Yeah, what is it?” I ask.

“If you have something going on, you’re gonna want to clear your schedule for this.”

“Shit, man, what is it?” My curiosity is piqued.

“Next Tuesday, you’re going to be in Italy, shooting for Gucci.”

“Did you say Gucci?” I ask, stressing the last word, making sure I didn’t mishear it.No fucking way.

He bellows a laugh. “That I did.”

“This is unbelievable. Thank you so much.”

“We’re getting you there, man. You’re on your way.”

“Holy shit.” I rake my hand through my hair. “I can’t believe this.” I also can’t let this opportunity pass me by. But how do I position it? “Hey, this is gonna sound crazy, but can I make a request?” I ask, wrapping my hand around the back of my neck and pacing.

“What kind of request?”

“I’d like them to consider a specific photographer for the shoot.”

He chuckles almost nervously. “I’m not sure I can do that, Enzo. I mean, I can ask, but...” He pauses. “What’s this about?”

“I know a photographer, she’s phenomenal. She’s bid for gigs with them before, but it never worked out. I know I can’t demand they use her, but I want to ask them to at least take a look at her for the job.”

“It’s important to you?”

“It is.”

He’s silent for a few seconds. “Let me see if I can get Tommaso back on the phone.”

“Can I be on the line?”

“Sure. Hold on.”

The phone rings.

“Hello, Giana. It’s Vance again for Tommaso. Is he still available?”
