My astonishment only flourished, both understanding and curiosity accompanying it. “But Fire Fury came to you, lowering his head to ask for your caress.Fire Fury,” I repeated, giving him a pointed look.

“It is the other way around, Baby,” Brax explained, amused by my clarification. “He didn’t lower his head because he wanted me to pet him. He did it so I could show him respect through my touch.”

When my confusion grew, Braxton smiled, letting go of the magic until his irises returned to the beautiful yellowish-green eyes I’ve grown to love.

“Tharion is not really my soulmate like we thought. He did choose to come to me and be there for me, but our connection goes far deeper than that. For the Dragons, I am one of them. It was his blood that created me. So just as Khayden was my Soulris father, Tharion is my Dragon one. I have two Dads.” He chuckled.

“Bless the Celestials,” I whispered, walking closer to him to see Fire Fury lift his head again, towering over us. “So, when they lower their heads, they are not yielding to us, they are asking for our reverence?”

“Exactly,” Braxton smiled.

“Wow.”

“I know!” Imogen clapped my back, earning a growl from Kingston, which she ignored. “I was as dumbfounded as you are, darling.”

“We all are,” Kingston mumbled.

“They only lower their heads so we can reach them,” Braxton mused, grinning when I glared.

How had I never thought of that?

“So, touch is a way to worship them?”

“Yes, Baby.”

“Wow,” I repeated.

“Right?!” Imogen shrieked; way too excited about this.

My gaze went to Star.My Star, andappreciation filled my heart like it never had. She was by my side once more, and I owed our reconciliation to Braxton. I would never be able to thank him enough for bringing her back to me.

When she moved towards me, nudging Fire Fury out of the way, I chuckled. That was my Star, not afraid of anything, not even that fire beast. Though, I supposed, I would now have to start calling him by his given name, Tharion, since he was my mate’s Dragon father.

A small gasp caught in my throat. Did that make him my Dragon-in-law??

Before I could go on a wild mental ride about what all of that meant, Star lowered her head to me, and I was more than glad to offer my respect to her while rubbing her jaw.

Who is a good girl?

“Wait, where is Luna?”

Braxton shook his head to me, disappointment crossing his features. “I called to her too, but she chose not to come.”

“Perhaps the boys needed her. They should be emerging from their transformation any day now,” I excused for his benefit, although it wasn’t entirely untrue. “So, what’s next?”

Exhilaration illuminated my mate’s eyes almost as brightly as his magic had. “Now wesky ride.”
