wanted to cry. She was just wearing skinny jeans and a crew

neck plain sweater with a black tank poking out from below.

Her hair was done up in a messy bun and she’d foregone any

 makeup, but she was stunning.

 “I- I can’t believe that you’re here. You cau

 ght a flight?”

Obviously Dallas had caught a flight. It wasn’t like she could

have run all that way or teleported. Quinn felt stupid for

 asking.

“Yeah. I did. They had another one going out. I have to be

back for Sunday night. I- uh- I booked a hotel, so don’t worry.

This isn’t about pressuring you or inviting myself in. I just

knew that we needed to talk and that it had to be in person. I

know this didn’t really give you much time to think, but I

couldn’t not come. Is it okay that I’m here?”

“Yes!” Quinn wanted to blurt that she’d spent all day

thinking about how she wished she could have got on that

flight this morning. “Do you want to come in?” Also a stupid

question. She wished she could stop with that.

“I’d like that.” Dallas was suddenly shy, but she followed

Quinn into the living room and sat down on the couch beside

 her.

They weren’t close enough to touch, but just the fact that

Dallas was there, that she’d flown all the way from Tampa, got

a hotel room, spent money on a ticket, just to be there in

person to talk, made Quinn feel so grateful.

 “Quinn-”

 “Dallas-”

They both laughed as they said each other’s names at the

 same time. Again.
