She’d felt all along that something wasn’t right. That there was something

going on that no one was bothering to tell her about. That big companies

didn’t just lend money. They didn’t help people get their ideas approved.

“What’s in it for you?” Taylor snapped.

Christina’s eyes narrowed in response. Her cheeks were slightly

flushed, and in her prim and proper clothing, including a set of towering

heels and a designer bag, she was terribly alluring. That only annoyed

Taylor further, that she had time to admire the other woman’s attire. And,

well, how her incredible body looked in it as well.

“Let me guess. You’re getting a huge bonus out of it. More money

on top of all the money you probably already get paid. Or are you going to

more than just me, so I want to know what the fuck is going on. If you don’t

tell me, I’m going to bail on this right now. The funding can be given back,

and you can all go fuck yourselves.”

Taylor was slightly astounded at the venom in her tone, but she’d been

seething for a few weeks and everything boiled over right there in the

parking lot. She almost wanted to apologize for her outburst— especially

the swear words because she didn’t ever use bad language— but she

managed to choke it back. She shouldn’t be the one apologizing when there

was clearly something that she was being left out of.

Christina was also clearly astonished. She was silent for a long while,

then she just silently walked over to her car. Taylor thought that she was

going to get in, but then she changed her mind and spun around. “Fine,” she

said as she crossed her arms over her chest. The action pushed up her

breasts and momentarily distracted Taylor. She found it hard to tear her eyes

back to Christina’s face. “I’ll tell you, but you have to promise me that this
