Taylor stood there, staring at the cloudless sky, the familiar fields rolling
on, the dots of the cows. The echo of a low moo broke through the stillness.
“On that note, we should probably get Chloe. Thanksgiving should be
for talking about things you’re thankful for, not going on about depressing
stuff. I want to see chickens. And everything else that she loves! And you
too.”
Christina leaned in and grazed her incredibly soft lips over Taylor’s
forehead. She paused, changed her mind, and bent her head to capture
Taylor’s lips. Taylor melted into the kiss. The first kiss they’d shared since
that night at Christina’s house. Taylor smothered a moan as she parted her
lips and arched into Christina. God, it felt so good. Her body was instantly
drenched in heat, and when Christina pulled away, she wanted to tug her
back and kiss her until they were breathless. The waiting, the being so
close, the working together— it had all been hard. Taylor could feel her
body’s frustration and longing growing, but she tamped it down and offered
a shaky laugh.
“Yes. I think it’s time to go see chickens.”
Christina understood. She was just as visibly affected. Her breathing
was different, her pupils huge, but she composed herself quickly. Even so,
she didn’t let go of Taylor’s hand until they reached the house.
