aren’t a serious buyer. They might counter, and then you can decide what to

do after that. You could try asking for fifty, and they’d probably try for

thirty, and then you’d settle at forty.”

 “Oh— um— yeah. Thank you.”

“Unfortunately, you’ll have to contact the creep to put in the offer for

 you.”

“Ugh. He’ll probably mess it up.” Taylor thought it was mildly amusing

Taylor wasn’t sure if she knew what that meant. She hadn’t specifically

confessed that she was a lesbian. What she’d said could have been taken

many different ways. Was Christina trying to say what Taylor thought she

 was saying?

She didn’t feel that she knew Christina well enough to just straight up

ask her if she was a lesbian, so she just nodded like a dummy and smiled

like she understood. Christina gave her a tight smile in return. Just like that,

they seemed to have concluded their business. Christina obviously had

other places she needed to be, probably other meetings to rush off to, so

Taylor just watched her get in her car and drive away. She didn’t peel out of

the lot or spray Taylor with dust and rock bits. Christina was much more
