Hearing the reassurance come from Christina made Taylor feel

slightly better. It gave her hope, since Christina was the one who had pulled

back at first.

“Okay.”

Taylor thought about pulling Christina into her for a quick kiss, but

she knew that Christina would feel anxious about it, since they were at

work. There wasn’t anyone back there with them, but Taylor didn’t want to

push boundaries that had worked for them so far. When they were at work,

they were friends and co-workers before they were anything else.

“You’ll call me later? We close at eight tonight, and I’m going to

stay the whole time. Adriana and Juliana are going to bring Chloe and

Joseph by right after school. I have them booked in for an hour. They’ll

look after Chloe until I’m off.”

“I’ll call you the minute you’re done then. Or maybe I’ll give you a

five-minute window to lock up.”

Taylor laughed. “Alright. Good luck with your afternoon. And the

week. It sounds hellish.”

“We’ll both be so busy that it’ll go by fast. Michelle’s going to have

to get used to the fact that I’m done working overtime for no pay. Not

because it’s about the money. It’s my time, and I have better things to do

with it.”

“Like hang out with me and Chloe?”

“Exactly.”

Christina clasped Taylor’s shoulders and gave her a brief, sensual

kiss. Taylor’s head was still spinning when Christina backed away.

“Everything’s going to be fine. Have fun. This is your day.”
