“It was so much fun. Might’ve been more fun with you there, though.”

He sets her down, then drops his lips to hers, kissing her passionately. One of his arms wraps around her back and she slides her hands under his shirt.

And, I’m out.

I turn to go down the first step and run smack into Aaron. His large arms grab mine, steadying me.

“Hey,” he says.

“Shh,” I say, pointing to Trevor and Sarah.

He chuckles. “Of course. They can’t keep their hands off each other.”

I look up at him, the irony of that statement not lost on me, with his hand latched onto my arm. Aaron and I have always been physical with each other. Touching. Hugging. Kissing. But, ya know, friendly kisses. That’s a thing, right?

“So, what are you doing here?”

He shrugs. “Still vacation. I was thinking we should go grab some ice cream down at Chewie’s.”

Chewie’s is a local favorite spot. They do three things: ice cream, fries, and hot dogs. And since they have both indoor and outdoor seating, they’re open year-round. And busy year-round, too. Because there’s something perfectly satisfying about the combination of a hot dog, french fries, and ice cream. Especially if the ice cream is in milkshake form, like their number one selling combo.

A smile crosses my lips. “Well, you know how I feel about ice cream. Although you have spent an entire week with me, are you sure you’re not tired of me?” I ask playfully.

“Beautiful, I will never ever be tired of you.”

I smile big at him as my stomach does happy little flips.

“Good, cause you’re stuck with me.”

“That’s the plan,” he says, with a smile I can’t quite read.

I shake my head and give his shoulder a playful shove.

“So? Ice cream?”

“Sounds like the perfect end to vacation,” I say as we walk down the stairs.

“What does?” Trev asks, as he walks down the stairs, one arm slung over Sarah’s shoulder.

“Wow, you ripped your faces apart faster than I thought you would,” I say with a laugh as we all hit the driveway.

“Well, Dad could see,” Sarah says. “Besides, there’ll be plenty more time for that… later,” She wiggles her eyebrows at Trevor, and he pulls her to his lips, giving her a super steamy kiss I do not need to see.

“Ugh,” Aaron groans.

“Seriously, enough of that,” I say.

“Fine, fine,” Sarah agrees. “Now, where are you two off to?”

“Ice cream. You’re invited if you can keep your mouths on your ice cream,” I say with a smirk.

She playfully slaps my arm. “No promises.” She winks at Trevor, who licks his lips.Ew.

Aaron throws his arm over my shoulders as we all walk down the driveway together.

Trev snickers and shakes his head, flicking Aaron in the arm. “When are the two of you gonna get your shit together and realize you’re in love?”

He gives me that shit-talking grin of his, and I throw my middle finger up at him.

“Fuck off, Trev,” I say as Aaron slugs his arm. “Fuck off.”
