“No!” Eugene screams and we chuckle.

“Too bad you don’t have to agree to it, only the innocent ones do.” Torrent begins to cut Eugene’s shirt up the center and opens it wide, revealing his hairy chest. I grab the top of his head and pull it back, making him look up at me. “Video.” I remind Hail and he pulls out his phone. I want the elders to get a taste of what’s in store for them eventually.

As soon as Hail is recording, I pull my blade out and press it to Eugene’s throat, “we’re coming for you, one by one.” I say into the camera as I cut into the soft skin and feel his blood run down over my hand. Before I even finish cutting, Torrent is slicing into his belly, and dragging his knife upward. I know what he’s searching for and the anticipation is making my heart pound.

I continue to hold Eugene’s head as Torrent plunges his hands into the slash in his stomach, intestines slipping out around his arms and hitting the floor. When he looks up at me with his blood splattered face and grins, I know he’s found it. He gives a loud grunt and yanks the organ out of Eugene just as I let his hair go.

Torrent stands and hands me the still warm heart, the flesh like a sponge around my fingers.

“Thank you for your sacrifice, Eugene.” I say as I hold the heart over my head and squeeze. Blood begins to run down my face and chest and I moan at the feeling. I pass it off to Torrent just as my demon steps up to my side, her eyes wide on my face.

Her hands land on my chest and she works her fingers through the blood, looking amazed. “This was why you were coated in blood last year,” she murmurs and steps into my body.

She remembers. I wrap my arm around her waist and press her pure white dress into the blood on my body, then smash my mouth onto hers. The iron taste of blood is first and then I moan when I begin to taste her. I grab her up in my arms and walk to the doors.

“And they’re out,” Torrent chuckles as I unlock the door and carry my woman to our room.

Incognitus

Eugene is dead and I can finally breathe again. It was close last night and almost being caught was both thrilling and terrifying. I have one more night in hiding and then my time will come.

Raiden has plans for tomorrow night but I won’t let it happen, he needs to die and his whore can go with him. The house is finally quiet and I’ve gotten the chance to take my much-needed shower. I lay on the bed and stare at the ceiling knowing this is my last night cooped up in this room. I will soon have the whole house to roam freely and Deluge will bow to me.

My phone has been steadily going off as the elders try to get a hold of me, but they betrayed me too. They received the video of Eugene’s final moments and I can only imagine their anger. Well, I have some of my own.

I can see why Raiden wanted to pull away from them, they aren’t trustworthy, and they only want to take, never give. But Raiden is no longer fit to be leader, his cock is always deep in that stripper, and his family has become second.

I will send them off into oblivion together.

Chapter Seventeen

Raiden

The house is still asleep but I couldn’t rest. After fucking Tempest in our blood-soaked bodies, we had a shower and she passed out as soon as her head hit the pillow, but I just couldn’t. Something has been feeling off and I don’t know if it’s the unknown about tonight. I’m forty-six this year and the closer I get to fifty, the more tired I feel. I need to get everything done soon and then live the rest of my days deep inside my demon.

I enter the kitchen to a pacing Eddy and I can feel his anxious energy thick in the air.

“Edward,” I bark so the old man can hear me. “What’s going on?”

“Raiden, there has been something happening and I know I should’ve told you sooner. I thought you knew about him.”

“About whom?” I open the fridge and grab the milk.

“Sit down, you are not going to be happy to hear this.” He guides me to the table and I can already sense an impending doom.

Tempest

I don’t wake up to Raiden telling me what the dress code is tonight and I immediately feel like something is wrong. I do my morning routine in the washroom and when I come out, he’s still not here. I grab my robe and throw it on, wincing as I pass the puddle of bloodied lace on the floor.

I open the bedroom door and look down the hall, listening carefully for any noise. The house is eerily quiet even though it’s early afternoon. I close the door behind me and head to Sky’s room. Her and Tiny are across from each other and they should be up by now.

I knock on Sky’s door and hear her yell for me to come in. I open it to find her and Tiny sitting on the bed with their packed bags at their feet.

“What’s going on?” I ask them and they look at each other before looking at me.

“We were told to pack.” Sky chews on her bottom lip, “I think something is happening.”

“No shit,” I say as I step inside and close the door, “who told you to pack?”
