“Definitely white tonight,” I said to myself, wiping my hand over my sweaty brow. This heat was getting close, and I hoped tonight I would meet the right alpha. Preferably one who didn’t show any signs of wanting commitment, either.
The two alphas in Vegas were wonderful, and I had planned on staying for a day longer because Harrison and Finn were fantastic in bed, but reality hit on the flight over and it was best not to have the complication of going into heat unless I was under the care of the omega resort.
But Noah still angered me with his arrival, ruining my last night with Harrison and Finn, and prompting my premature departure. But I was happy I found out he was on his way before it was too late. I smiled, knowing Noah would be furious right now.
I laid back on the lounger, remembering that night with Harrison and Finn. A smile remained on my lips as I closed my eyes.
I didn't know how much later it was when a loud knocking at the door woke me with a start. But I glanced at the darkening sky.
“Isla, we’re here!” a voice shouted on the other side.
I groaned and dropped my head back on the sun lounger. All I wanted was to sleep off this growing heat, but this was why I was here.
Not to sleep.
The knocking got louder, and I pushed myself off the bed and opened the door, smiling when I saw Jess and Polly.
“You have five minutes to sort out your hair and get ready,” Jess said, smiling. She looked so pretty in a pale blue dress with capped sleeves that went to the floor. Her white mask grasped in her hand.
Polly was more vampish. Her dress was skin tight and scarlet red, and as much as she wore her white mask, she tied the navy mask around her throat.
“I’ll be twenty minutes. You two go ahead. I need to do something with my hair,” I said, pulling at my tattered strands and regretting falling asleep with wet hair.
“They’ll be no alphas left for you once they see this.” Polly fingered the mask around her neck.
“I thought you wanted the chase,” I replied. She nodded. “Wrong colour. It should have been the black one.”
She lifted her shoulder up high and shrugged. “I’m going into a BDSM room tonight,” she said and grinned.
“I might watch,” I quickly replied. “But first, let me get ready.”
Jess smiled at the interaction. “Good luck, girls.”
“You too, Jess,” I said, pulling her in for a hug.
Then I grinned at Polly, pulling her to me afterwards. “Somehow, I don’t think you need any of my luck.”
“No, I make my own luck in this world,” she responded and quirked her lip.
That’s what I was doing from now.
Making my own way.
