“I heard from his PA,” Freya whispered. “Just a minute. I’m in my bedroom, but I can hear someone outside the room.”

The creak of her bedroom door was audible down the line. She quietly clicked the door shut. “I confronted him and he said he’ll give him up if you come home,” she whispered.

“Of course he will. It’s only because I jilted him at the altar. He thought I would go through with the wedding and let him keep his lover.”

“He’s a bastard,” she said.

“I know Freya. He lied to me the entire time and if he thinks pretending they’ll finish will change anything, then he is more delusional than I first thought.”

“Isla, listen to me. Father agreed with him. But I pulled Noah to one side and told him to calm down and you could speak once you got back and work it out.”

“Thanks,” I whispered.

“But he stormed out saying something about your heat.”

“And?”

“I knew he would be at work and I called his office to speak to him when I thought he would have calmed down and his personal assistant called me back today. Anyway, she got Noah tickets and he’s on his way to Vegas. She told me he was stomping around the office talking to Rylan Sharp about marrying you there and then dragging you back to England. That he needed to get to you before you went into heat.”

"I have his passport."

"He has dual nationality, he also holds an Australian passport," she said. "His mother is…"

"Oh shit," I interrupted.

“That’s why I’ve been trying to call you. His flight will land in Vegas in the next couple of hours.”

“Did you tell Mum and Dad about him having an affair? Dad will be furious if he thought I was in a relationship with two people,” I said.

“I did, but Mum and Dad are furious with you. They didn’t believe me, said you’ve thrown away a life with a successful alpha.”

“You mean rich, and I don’t care. This is my life. I want an alpha who wants me, cares for me like an alpha should. I want to be his only... or they only. I want to be everything.”

Freya laughed. “He raged that you, an omega, took his passport and the tickets.”

“I didn’t want him following me. I wanted to enjoy my supposed honeymoon without looking over my shoulder.”

Freya sighed. “Look, I have to go. My mobile service only gives me thirty minutes of international calls and I might need to call you again,” she whispered. “Be careful Isla, he is furious, and I'm scared of what he’s prepared to do to get what he wants.”

“Me too, Freya, and thanks. You’ve saved my life.”

“See you when you get back,” she said. “Oh, and Tilly called, and I told her everything. She asked me to text her your flight itinerary and she will have her pack pick you up from the airport and you can stay in hers until you decide what to do.”

There was only one thing for me to do: get the hell out of Vegas.

Noah proved to me that getting me primed for my heat was the only thing he was interested in, and now he’d flown to Vegas to complete his mission. This was more than getting married to hide his genuine love. This was about getting a baby.

It all made sense. He and Rylan wanted a baby—my baby.

No fucking way.

I opened my laptop and brought my booking at the Omega Island resort forward to today. My flight was open, and I could jump onto the next available plane, which was in less than two hours' time.

I threw my clothes and toiletries into my suitcase and dressed in a pair of denim shorts and a pink tee shirt. Pulling my hair into a high ponytail and hightailed it out of the hotel before I bumped into Harrison or Finn. Because as much as the promise of one more night sandwiched between them was highly appealing. Bringing my shit to their door wasn’t. They didn’t need it.

It was time to do what I really came for, wait for my heat to spike, and ride an alpha for the only thing I needed in my life.

And get the hell out of Vegas.
