“Your father wants you to be in a relationship like that?” There was no way my omega was marrying another alpha and living an unhappy life when I could change everything for her. At least our pack could, if I could get Finn on my side.
She nodded and stared at me for a moment. “Is it illegal to marry multiple alphas unless they are in the same pack?”
“Yes...”
“Okay, I’ll marry you,” she said.
“You will.”
She laughed. “Why not? If it saves me from Noah, but are you sure? Your perfect omega might come into your life and then you’ll have to hunt me down for a divorce.”
“Oh Isla, I will enjoy hunting you. No matter where you are. I will find you,” I purred.
She roared with laughter. “You’re a sweet alpha, but that primitive side isn’t totally hidden.”
“In bed Isla, that’s when you’ll really know I’m an alpha.”
Her eyes widened, and she swallowed, making me burst into laughter, and Isla laughed with me.
“We need to go,” I said, taking her hand after I paid the bill.
“Now? You mean to get married?” she whispered. “Don’t we need to book it?”
“I told you I was going to marry you and spent the rest of the day arranging it.” Then I remembered what Noah was like with her and knew I needed to dial it back a bit. “It’s just a piece of paper to show when you get home. Stop Noah from taking you.”
She pursed her lips together, and I thought she was going to turn back on the arrangement for a moment.
“Okay, I’d prefer to be married to you and live a single omega life than with Noah.”
Single.
“You’ll always have me.” I swept her in my arms and pulled her close to me, and pressed my lips to hers.
“You could get a job in London. There are a lot of hotels and I’m sure you’ll get a job easily.” Her eyes shifted from left to right as she waited for my answer.
“I could,” I said. It wasn’t true, but she needed to hear it. I smiled and kissed her again. My hand on her thigh slid upward only to glide back down, and for a moment, I revelled in the feel of her soft flesh.
She sucked in a breath, holding it in, her eyes troubled as she stared into mine. And I was scared she was going to change her mind on our little arrangement, so I grabbed her hand and said, “why don’t we protect your future with a ring on your finger and work out the rest after I’ve knotted you.”
Isla burst into laughter. I had her back with me again.
