“Fuckingalpha,”Imuttered after I paid the taxi fare and began the short walk to my fiancé’s place of work.

Seven days I’d gone without sex and if he thought I was going to wait for him to tell me he was tired again, or that he was saving himself for the wedding night. Or whatever other reason he found for not seeing to my needs. I was going to scream.

But as the only time I liked to scream was in bed, and when a knot was deep inside me, I had to take myself to the dick.

Yeah, I was a little greedy and my sex drive was high, but I was an omega for god’s sake and he was an alpha. He was supposed to be all over me whenever he could.

It hadn’t helped that I kept myself on suppressants for years, avoiding alphas at all costs, but once my friend Tilly told me about the ‘knot,’ I threw caution to the wind, which really meant I threw away the suppressants and dived right into the alpha pool.

For eighteen months, I enjoyed myself, playing with alphas and making up for lost time. But unfortunately, my omega yearning for a family reared its head, too.

So when Noah came along, I took a chance at being with one alpha. My father was delighted. Secretly, I was a little disappointed to find he didn’t have a pack. But I knew he was the one when he asked, “What’s my scent?”

“Coffee and caramel,” I replied.

He said I smelled the same to him.

Matching scents—Fated.

It was strange, though; I didn’t feel it. Tilly knew her pack was hers, knew what happened between her thighs every single time one of her alphas came close to her.

But hey, my scent matched with Noah, and it was possible that not all pairings were going to be the same and I knew Noah loved me when he whisked me away to Paris and proposed.

And now we were three days away from getting married.

Me. Poor girl, Isla Silvers, was getting married, and to a millionaire. Not as rich as Tilly’s pack, but it kept me in this lacy underwear that adorned my body underneath this pink trench coat as I made my way to my future husband’s work with plans to seduce him.

Sometimes it was the only way. But I had to cheer up my alpha. He’d worked so hard and was now stressed at the thought of taking a couple of weeks off work for the wedding and honeymoon.

Which meant he was not only neglecting me. He was neglecting his alpha needs, too. And I was going to be the person to indulge him, first on my knees.

The moment I reached his office building, the doorman opened the door for me. I strode inside and listened to my high heels as they click-clacked against the marble floor as I headed with confidence to the lift.

Excitement bloomed, causing goosebumps to pop over my skin, and slick was already building between my thighs. But it was the rush of warmth that floated over my skin that really made me smile.

I was getting close to my heat.

I knew that, though, Noah planned the wedding and honeymoon around my heat cycle, meticulously going over my calendar each time he came to my apartment. Because although we had dated for six months now, I still lived alone in London, close to my job.

Inside the lift, I hit the button to take me to the top floor. It was now six o’clock in the evening and most people had finished for the day.

The lift stopped, and the doors opened and I glanced into the foyer of Nichols & Co.

“Hi Helena,” I said, greeting Noah’s personal assistant, who I thought would have gone home by now. I hoped Noah wasn’t pressuring her to stay.

“Good evening, Miss Silvers.” She glanced at my coat and down at my heels. “I’m just leaving.”

“Is he busy?” I asked. Suddenly second guessing myself, worrying that my future husband would be furious with me for turning up when he was busy with his work.

I stared down at my outfit, shaking away my uncertainty because underneath this pink coat I looked sexy as hell and I needed to throw away those unhelpful doubts.

Helena rolled her eyes as she grabbed her bag and coat. “I’ve seen him once today, when he greeted Rylan Sharp before their meeting about an hour ago. But if you’re going in, I can safely say I can leave.”

I smiled. “I’ll put a smile on his face,” I said.

Helena’s lip quirked on one side. “I expect that’s exactly what you’re about to do. And on that note, I will definitely leave.”
