“Iscentmatchedher, and she didn’t even realise. She was so caught up in needing a piece of chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookies she didn’t realise it was me she could smell.”
I knew that because she smelled the same to me. I’d waited thirty-six years and finally found, not only an omega I was physically attracted to, but also my inner alpha beast was desperate to touch.
“Her scent is chocolate to me,” Harrison said. There was a massive smile on his face, and his eyes were shining for the first time in years. He knew. I now knew, but I also knew she was going to be a pain in the ass.
But scent matching was what this pack needed. We agreed years ago. Now we had to convince our final pack member, Kingsley, who was in New York, defending a criminal in a high-profile case. Unfortunately, King wouldn’t be easy to convince and we were a pack, we claimed together or not at all.
King made a mistake years ago. He lacked judgement and now it was up to Harrison and me to find the omega for our pack. But we all had to agree that she was the one. We made a pact years ago. Trouble was we had different opinions on the perfect omega. Though I never expected to find a scent match, certainly never expected Harrison to have one too.
“I hope King has a scent match with her too,” Harrison said. I nodded. “Especially as only King had a matching scent with Paula.”
I shook my head. “He didn’t. He was so besotted with Paula that he pretended he had a scent match with her.”
Harrison groaned. He didn’t like Paula, and neither did I, but for different reasons and we refused to accept she was our omega, which put a strain on the pack.
“I’ll call him and tell him to get his ass back here pronto,” Harrison said. “Because I know she's the one. I feel her and I just know she’s ours.”
I knew Isla was perfect for Harrison, maybe for King—she was their perfect omega. But I wanted an omega with a submissive trait, not one with a snappy mouth and challenging stare. Though I knew she would look good as I held her hair back as I spanked her ass until it was red, then plunged my cock into her as she begged me for more.
Shit!What was I thinking?
She wasn’t the right omega for this pack and if I acted on my feelings, raising Harrison’s hopes, especially since King almost cost this pack once before—the risk was too high.
But maybe I would reserve judgement, see her again. The girl was beautiful, but she had to be more than that. Pretty omegas were normal, sassy omegas—not quite so. But an omega with a scent match, now that was rare, and her perfume was intoxicating, setting off the primal instinct in me to chase after her.
But she was nearly married to another man and ran away from him. Was I interested in a disobedient omega? Or was that side of her, the side that made me hard?
I couldn’t say no straight away.
“She ranted about her ex and he kept trying to call her. He texted her around four times in the brief space of time I sat with her.”
“We need to act fast. We don’t want him using his alpha bark to make her do what he wants,” Harrison said.
I laughed, picking my cell from my desk, and I called the front desk. “I think she’ll bite him back.”
Harrison chuckled.
“Good evening, Mr Weston. Pamela speaking.”
“Hello Pamela, can you arrange for a caesar salad and a chocolate cookie pie to be delivered to the honeymoon suite as soon as possible? Complimentary, don’t charge the room.”
I didn’t know if I wanted her, but I didn’t want her going hungry.
“Of course, Mr Weston. It will be there within ten minutes,” she replied.
Harrison and I sat and watched as Isla took a fluffy white dressing gown from the wardrobe and purred as she closed her eyes and rubbed it around her face.
And suddenly, all I could think about was how hard I wanted to fuck her. How much I wanted to tame her, make her mine. Make her ours.
Who was I kidding?
She was not mine.
Slow it down, Finn.
“She’s going in the shower,” Harrison said beside me, pulling me out of my fantasy as I took my gaze back to the screen.
