I hit his chest, annoyed by his on-the-spot teasing and throw my arms around his neck to give him a hug. Aarav wraps his arms around my waist pulling me to his body, but his confrontation doesn’t stop here. He keeps murmuring as we embrace.

“I’m so sorry, Jaan. I wish I could go back and change it all for you. Trust me, if I had the power to do that, I would.”

I know. I know he would change it all if he had power because now, I trust him. More than anyone and anything, I trust this man who could literally sacrifice the mere reason of his existence, only to choose me and keep me forever with him. I don’t think he could give me anything more than this and henceforth he deserves nothing less than true love, true companionship and a family. I’ll give him all. I’ll give him everything he missed so far, craved so far.

My body relaxes into him for a beat before I straighten and meet his eyes. The honesty and rawness in his eyes stop my heart, leading a pathway to his soul. I can literally read what he’s going through, the pain of losing the motive of his life, the joy of having me in his arms and most importantly, the dreams he’s already envisioning about our future together. I can read it all. Here I was thinking of accepting his flaws and work on them to make him a better man, stand by him as his life partner throughout, and give him the rights over me and our marriage. But Aarav stunned me by his confession. He chose me. He chose me over his revenge. Is there anything else I would ever want in my life? I don’t think so. I feel like I have won something priceless and I would never let it go.

“I swear when our eyes lock, my heart burns and I can see the next sixty years of our lives together, Jaan. Are you willing to give us that chance?” he coaxes me for a reply, stroking my lip the way he likes.

He is waiting for the exact words and won’t let me leave until he hears it. So, without wasting much of our time, I give him what he needs.

“Yes,” I nod. “I want this too.”

I am not even done, and Aarav slants his mouth over mine. I don’t wait for long to open for him and he doesn’t delay either to delve his tongue and taste my mouth so deliciously that I squeeze my legs together. Gripping my hair and without wasting a moment, he deepens and intensifies the kiss. I’m still lost in him, his kiss, when he pulls back and kisses my forehead.

“Welcome to my world, Jaan.”

CHAPTER 37

Jhanvi

I am back home. Not alone. Aarav is with me and that’s because I insisted that he check out from the hotel and stay with me for whatever period he was here in London. Of course, we have to figure out the rest of the stuff as well. Like how we would manage the charity partnership, open up about our marriage to my friends and most importantly how and when we will fly back to India and I take the charge of AR Mansion. We have a whole new world to discuss. I haven’t messaged Jaya yet about these changes in my dynamics with Aarav, but all that can be done later. For now, I want to show Aarav my home. Our home!!

“Show me the bedroom first,” Aarav teases.

Ever since the confession that I am willing to give this marriage a chance, Aarav has not left teasing me with his witty mouth. I have never seen him smiling this much and for this long.

“So typical men,” I mock back, holding my blush.

“What’s so typical of it? People sleep in their bedrooms and I need a cozy bed. That’s why I prefer to see the bedroom first.”

All excuses. I know. So, without wasting time, I drag him to the bedroom.

“This is my bedroom. Happy? I hope the bed is cozy for you and trust me, this room has some breathtaking views of the suburbs. Let me show you.”

I leave his arm to slide the thick curtains, but Aarav pulls me back to him.

“I have my best view already. And with you in my arms throughout the night, even on the floor is going to be damn cozy, Jaan.”

Gosh!! Why does he have to be so romantic? Flame drawn to flame, his lips crash into mine eager and greedy and my words swallow in yet another hot-molten kiss. None of his kisses is similar. Every time Aarav has kissed me, I am drawn to another world of bliss and surging need. This time, he doesn’t stop exploring each and every curve of my body too, drawing pleasure for both of us.

A phone call breaks our moment and since I know it’s my mobile ringing, I mouth a quick apology and rush to the living room again to answer it. Aarav doesn’t follow me, which is great because I wouldn’t be able to speak on the phone if he had. I am still gasping as I answer this call from my secretary, who reminds me of some meeting I have with a client today. How did I forget it? I still have more than an hour to make sure I don’t miss it. So, after disconnecting, I scurry back to my bedroom where Aarav is already enjoying the views from the window.

“I’ll have to leave for the office. Something needs my attention there.”

He turns around, not so happy about the changed plan.

“I need you more.”

Damn hell!! If he keeps talking like that, I’ll probably have to shut the charity trust.

“Alright, come back soon,” he finally eases my worry. “I’ll settle down here and do some work too.”

“Great. I’ll leave the keys in case you want to pick something up from outside and ..” I think again. “Umm, you want me to make something quick for your lunch? Of course, I should. You will be hungry and.. I have time to do that. Let me -”

I don’t realize when Aarav reaches me and cups my face.

“You don’t need to worry about fulfilling your wifely duties. Go finish your work. I can take care of myself. I’ll order lunch when I am hungry.”
