“I couldn’t stand the stuff the university provided, cheap particleboard mostly,” I told her. “If I’m supposed to have students and staff in here, I needed it to look good.”
“Were these chairs from your family?” she asked.
“They belonged to an uncle,” I answered. “But, Millie, we both know you didn’t come here to inspect the furniture.”
“No, it’s just… it’s been so long since we’ve last talked,” she admitted. “I almost don’t know where to begin.”
“If you’re throwing me over, I don’t blame you. I’m a big boy, Millie. I’ll get over it.”
Millie laughed, but she quickly shook her head. “No, it’s not that. It’s quite the opposite, really.”
Propping myself against my desk’s ledge, I crossed my arms and studied her for a long moment. She was so beautiful and vibrant. Even though her kiss with her other paramour left her a little breathless, Millie Jackson looked far from spent. If anything, she was only glowing brighter.
I swallowed hard.
“Then… what do you want from me?” I had to know.
“You,” she professed softly. “You set your own desires and ego aside for me, Warren, and I haven’t forgotten that.”
I chuckled. “Trust me, it wasn’t easy.”
“I guess not, but you did it for me, anyway, and for Caleb.”
“Well, I care about you both.”
“I hope not in the same way,” she teased back.
“No,” I agreed with a small laugh. “It’s far from it.”
“You know, Caleb told me once about your bargain. He said you agreed that, if I wanted, you would both be willing to date me at the same time. I wanted to know if that was still true. Even if I’m with Caleb and Vladimir, could you set your ego aside every once in a while, for my sake?”
“For how long? How long would we go only like this?”
Millie set her tea down and shrugged. “Indefinitely? As long as it makes us all happy?”
“It’s a lot to ask….”
Then, she stood, her eyes set on me. It was hard to deny how her curves were hugged by that soft ivory sweater or how her skirt flowed like water over her hips. She looked so perfect, almost untouched, but the sweetest kind of sin flourished in her smile.
“I don’t expect a decision right now,” she swore. “I just wanted you to understand that I was still willing, and I would make it all worth your while.”
As she closed the distance between us, our faces slowly inched closer. Millie leaned herself against the desk beside me, inviting me to face her directly. She let my arms grip the desk around her and our lips grow closer.
Dammit, I was so close that I could smell traces of Vlad on her.
How was it so alluring to smell the scent of another man on her? Her familiar vanilla-sweet scent was replaced with something woodsier and masculine, and it brought out something new in me. As her thumbed reached up to brush along my lower lip, I couldn’t help but lose myself in the moment.
Our mouths met slowly, then all at once. I breathed in her scent, smelling the traces of another. My competitive pushed me to kiss her harder. I wanted to leave my own mark on Millie, like the man before me. I wanted him to know I was there just as I sensed him.
God, it had been ages since I felt this much fire burning inside me.
“We could be just like this,” she compelled me between kisses. “You might not have me every minute of the day, but I’d never leave you unsatisfied.”
“I don’t think you ever could,” I swore, my voice turning to gravel. “Just looking at you feels so good.”
There was so much of her I craved and not nearly enough time, but Millie was willing to give me a piece of herself, even in this hurried state. As I pushed up the hem of her skirt, Millie pulled herself back onto the desk and spread her legs as wide as she could. She willingly let me tug down the sheer black thong underneath, letting it fall to the floor before I found what I had wanted for so damn long.
“Shit, you’re so wet,” I realized as I found her burning, slick entrance.
