Viktor nodded and stood. “I need to check on Lillian.”

“I’ll show myself out.” He stood and held out his hand, grateful for his friend’s help. Now, he would take care of this himself.

Take care of his woman.

Who wasn’t actually his yet, but he planned on changing that soon if she was willing—and it seemed she might be.

Once he was in his SUV, he called the number he had on Ryba from a burner phone.

“Who the fuck is this?” Ryba answered on the third ring, sounding annoyed.

“You saw me with Zamira last night.”

There was a slight rustling sound. “What do you want?”

“To talk in person about why you’re hassling my female.” He didn’t like talking about Zamira like that, but Ryba was the type of man who would relate more to that kind of declaration than anything else.

“I just want to talk to her, that’s it.”

Yeah, right. “You can talk to me, and me only. Today.” He rattled off the name of one of Viktor’s hotels. “Four o’clock.”

“I’ll be in touch.”

Not an answer, but it would have to do. Ryba would try to do a search on the number he’d called from, but that wouldn’t give him anything. If he wanted to know what was up, he’d have to show up at the meeting.

There was nothing more he could do. Now Dimitri needed to get back to Zamira.
