Jeriann: And to answer your question. I had to go back to WIR

That’s When in Rome.

Jeriann: … for my cute, non-waitress shoes and overheard him tell you not to talk back to him. Like he’s your fucking dad or something. Ugh. That guy…

Me: Did you tell him I was quitting?

Jeriann: No. Yes. Okay. I may have hinted that if he didn’t pull his head out of his ass, you might quit.

Me: Jeri…

Jeriann: I also might’ve mentioned that you had an interview last week.

Great. Now Rome’s going to think I’m quitting.

Me: No, I didn’t.

Jeriann: He doesn’t know that.

Me: Jeri…

Jeriann: What? The guy shouldn’t talk to you like that. You have every right to call him out when he’s being a prick. We all do it. You know that.

Me: Yeah. I know.

Jeriann: I did you a solid. I put the fear of losing his precious Elizabeth in his brain.

Yeah. After what happened, I’m nothing close to precious.

Me: Precious Elizabeth? LOL

Jeriann: You know you’re his favorite.

Me: No.

Well, sure, as I mentioned before, I thought I was his favorite.

Not anymore.

Jeriann: Hey. Cael’s up. I smell coffee. I’m gonna grab some and head home. I’ll knock after I SSS.

For Jeriann, SSS means shit, shower, and shave.

Yeah. I know. Gross.

Me: OK

I don’t bother replying to my boss. I mean, he’ll know I’m not quitting when I show up for work on Tuesday night.

I flop back onto my bed and smile. “Two days off in a row.” That never happens. I should probably do something constructive, or at the very least get up and pretend I’m going to be a productive citizen. I’ve got laundry up the wazoo to do. I need to clean my apartment for sure. I should call my dad or write my brother a letter. It’s been over a week since I did and I’m usually pretty good about that. As for the rest, that can wait until tomorrow. Today, all I want to do is lay on my couch bed and watch TV. I’ll make some popcorn since it’s pretty much the only food I’ve got except for cheap ramen. Having a cozy day at home is just what I need. Maybe Jeriann will hang out with me for part of it, although she’s got to work tonight. It won’t be for long if she does.

No matter. I’ll take it.
