I stepped back and huffed. “I wasn’t going to do anything.”

“Are you lying to me?” he asked as he stared into my soul. “Do you think that’s a good idea?”

I swallowed thickly and the rage went away. No, I didn’t want to lie to my Daddy. Or get in trouble with him. I shrank away.

“Sorry,” I muttered.

Vito grabbed my chin and tilted my head up gently. “Don’t be sorry. It’s okay to get a little jealous, but don’t ever lie to me.” He brushed his fingers over my neck. “Understand?”

“Yes,” I whispered. “Yes, Daddy,” I corrected myself.

“You’re such a good boy,” Vito sighed. “I could never stay upset with you.”

When he said that, I stared at the ground. You say that now…I had avoided talking about Sergei, but it was time. The Bianchi’s needed to know everything that I knew. I couldn’t stand around and lie to Vito’s face anymore.

“Everything is being carried down to the water,” Samantha said as she bounced back over, having no idea that she was on the brink of death a minute ago. “I’ll leave you to it!”

Vito nodded. “Thanks.”

He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and I let him lead me to the water. But the excitement I’d felt before was dwindling. I went through the motions as we stepped into a large tent he’d had set up and he helped me change into a pair of swimming trunks.

I stared at him when he changed, my eyes transfixed by all the scars on his muscle-lined chest. Reaching out, I wanted to touch him, but I pulled back. When I told him the truth, he’d want nothing to do with me. And I would be lucky if I even made it out alive.

“What’s wrong?” Vito asked.

“Nothing.” I put on a brave face and smiled at him. It was selfish, but I wanted to enjoy a little fun before it was all ripped away. “Can we go swimming now?”

“Sunscreen first,” he said as he picked up a bottle. “Turn around.”

I did as I was told. Vito slathered me in sunscreen, his big, callous hands heaven against my skin. I leaned back into him and he chuckled.

“You like it whenever I touch you. Have I ever told you how much I enjoy that?” he asked, his deep voice like liquid silk around my cock. “I’ve had my fair share of meetups with people, but it’s easier to pay someone and get it over with. But with you? I know you want me.”

My heart squeezed in my chest. “You have no idea how much.”

“What was that?”

“Nothing,” I said as I turned and let him finish the job. “I’ll do you too.”

Vito smiled. “Here, baby,” he said. “Do your thing.”

I gazed up at him. Vito was a giant of a man. I wasn’t even going to be able to reach all of him unless he laid down for me. As if he could read my mind, he pointed to a pair of laid-out towels.

“We can do it over there.”

“Okay.”

I followed Vito, and as soon as he laid down, I slathered him with sunscreen like he’d done to me. I took my time, running my hands over every last inch of his body. The more I did, the more I wanted to keep the truth buried inside of me. I didn’t want to hurt Vito.

“Tell me what’s wrong,” Vito said as I worked on his back. “And don’t say nothing,” he cut in before the words could leave my lips. “I know that’s bullshit.”

I sighed and my shoulders dropped. “It’s just…”

“Spit it out, boy,” he snapped.

I choked and nodded. “Sergei didn’t just escape before you found me,” I said. “He told me to kill you and your family, get any information I could, and then he would be back to get me.” My eyes clouded. “That was always the goal. None of this,” I whispered.

“And how long was that your plan? Are you still going to kill me?”
