He stepped closer to her again and leaned down to kiss her on the mouth this time. “Even if we’re just friends, my guess is you don’t want to think about me sleeping with other women right now either.”
Her nose wrinkled. “I don’t.”
“Well, same here.” He shrugged. “Plus, I need to save up my energy. I have a feeling you’re going to put me through my paces.”
She rolled her eyes.
He stepped back, feeling buoyed by the plan. “We good?”
She nodded, a little smile there. “We’re good.”
“G’night, Eli.”
“Night.”
He drove home feeling better than he had in a long damn time.
