“Vix,” I whisper.
She grasps my hand with hers and turns to place a kiss on my palm. I pull her closer, our lips mere inches apart.
Her eyes glisten with tears.
“I love you,” I say quietly.
Nothing but the sound of trickling water fills the shower. I’ve never said those words to a woman before. Just my mother and Dani.
She sucks in a breath, and I realize I’m holding mine too, because what if she doesn’t feel the same? She has to, I know she feels what I’m feeling.
A smile forms on her mouth, and she places a soft kiss on the corner of my lips.
“I love you too.”
We smile at each other as the water turns cold and finally break the moment when we can’t stand it any longer. There may be a party downstairs, but the only thing I want to do right now is go lay in bed with my Queen.
