Chapter 31

Maverick

My hands clench as I take long strides to the bar. That same fucker that got her drunk has his hands on her ass and his tongue down her throat.

“Get the fuck down!” I growl and both boys jump down immediately when they see the rage in my eyes.

My blood is pumping through my heart at an intensified speed, and I don’t even give a fuck that I’m about to be a possessive asshole. I reach to grab her by the waist to set her on the floor. Of course she squirms and tries to resist me.

“What the hell Maverick?” She hisses at me.

I pull her into my side and face the now silent room.

“She is mine!” I bellow. “Am I clear? She is mine and no one touches what’s mine.”

The room is eerily quiet.

I look at every brother in here to make sure he understands I’m not fucking around. I get to Dom, and he looks like he’s about two seconds away from slamming his fist on my jaw.

“You're claiming her Prez?” Romeo asks in disbelief.

I glance at Tanner whose eyes are almost bulging out of her head as she stares at me.

“Yeah, I’m claiming her.” I reach down and lace our fingers.

“Outside now,” Dom grits out as I drag Tanner towards the back exit.

We step out into the dark, behind the bar.

“What the fuck was that?” Dom steps up in my face and glares.

I let go of Tanner. “Dom, calm down. You don’t want anyone touching her right? Well now they won’t.” I pull a cigarette from my pocket as he lets my response sink in.

He blinks. “So you're saying you did it to protect her and that’s all?”

I take a drag and blow out the smoke. “I think this arrangement works in everyone’s favor.”

“Umm excuse me?” Tanner shouts.

The back door swings open and Dani staggers out. She leans over, placing her hands on her knees and starts to vomit.

“Fuck…. Daniella.” Dom walks over and pulls her hair back as she continues to dry heave.

“You’re right Maverick,” Dom says, then looks to Tanner. “You don’t have to worry about these guys getting fresh with you, and no one will mess with you knowing your Maverick’s.”

“I’m Maverick’s? Like I’m just a toy he now owns?” She scoffs and turns to walk away.

“I’ll handle this.” I point to Tanner. “You handle that.” I point over to Dani.

I reach for Tanner's hand, but she jerks away. I’m surprised she willingly followed me around the building to my bike. As soon as we get far enough away from Dom, she hits the roof.

“You selfish bastard. I can’t believe you!” She yells as I kick my leg over my bike.

“You get jealous, so you go all caveman and claim me like I’m some prize you are entitled to!” Her hands are waving in the air, but I ignore her and shove the helmet at her.

I started up the engine and glanced over my shoulder. “I’m not fighting with you out here. Get your ass on the bike and we can fight as much as you want when we get home.”

She huffs and mumbles a long sentence under her breath as she climbs on behind me.

I have barely gotten three hours of sleep each night since the creek. I’ve wanted to go to her so badly, but I didn’t. Instead, I laid there and sulked like a little bitch. I missed her. Truth be told I was fucking miserable. Especially when I didn’t see her for two days. I know it’s my fault. I’m the one that has the screwed up image of a relationship. It’s all I've ever known. I’ve never had one, hell I never wanted one. Until her. I thought this week I would just go on about business as usual. Deal some guns, track down Viper’s drug dealing ass, and maybe get a decent blowjob from a club girl.

I was sadly mistaken. I did deal with some guns, and did some digging on Viper, but that last one. I haven’t let anyone touch me and I don’t even know why. No, fuck that. I know exactly why. I almost flew off the handle when I left Tanner’s room the day of the funeral and went into mine to find Chasity in my bed. Without my permission. I kicked her out and spent the entire night getting drunk. Alone.

I made a quick and probably poorly planned decision when I walked into Maxi’s tonight. The second I saw his hands on her, it came over me. Pure jealousy. Not just that, I knew at that moment I wanted her, and I would do what it took to make that happen. Claiming her was just the icing on the cake.
