I squint at her. “Glad you relaxed. I was worried you’d start to yell at the pilot to set back down.”
She bumps my arm. “Hey, I never back down from anything. You know I love an adventure.”
“True,” I drone in thought, wondering if she’d like riding on my bike. “Glad that hasn’t changed.”
“Hmm.”
My phone buzzes just as we settle inside the car. Sliding it from my pocket, I see a text from Mark.
Club later?
I look at Cassie and ask, “Want to sneak out tonight?”
I almost expect her to refuse, but she gives me a sly smile and asks, “Where are we going?”
Warmth pools inside my chest, inciting a grin.
