“Is sex all you ever think about?”

“Sometimes I think about carbs too.”

I looked her up and down.If she ate carbs, they didn’t stick around.

“No, I did not fuck Nico Belinsky.”

I’d fucked Nico’s father, and then I’d killed him.Which had made Christmas dinner at Brooke and Luca’s place something of an awkward affair seeing as Nico and I had both been invited.I’d made sure to sit at the other end of the table.Sixteen years had passed since I’d slipped a knife between Lev Belinsky’s ribs, and I’d been masquerading as a high-class hooker at the time, but I’d had a couple of conversations with a young Nico while I finessed my way into Belinsky’s inner circle. He’d spent most of the time talking to my breasts, but the human memory was a funny thing—I recalled our chats with stunning clarity, so what if he remembered them too?Why tempt fate by spending more time than necessary in his presence?

The set of Ana’s jaw told me she recognised the name, and she could probably take a good guess as to why I was avoiding Belinsky Junior.

“Why don’t you go to the Peninsula with Hallie and Bradley while I stay here with Dasha?”she asked Emmy.“You can leave Bradley behind in the spa.”

“That…is actually not a bad idea. But is Belinsky dangerous?”

In the same way that I was dangerous. He could kill—hadkilled—but he’d only do it if he had a reason.

“Not to hotel guests.”

“Good.”She turned to Ana.“You’ll be okay?”

What Emmy was really asking?Whether I would try to kill Ana again. And the answer was no, not unless she tried to harm me first. For three years, we’d been closer than sisters, and I’d missed her when our group got torn apart.Having her in my space again was weird, but not horrible.

Ana came to the same conclusion.

“Da, I’ll be fine.”
