Nate: you seemed to have forgotten something in my bed

I could feel my face heating as I began typing back to him, knowing exactly what I had left in his bed.

Katie: really? Don’t think I forgot anything.

Nate: Really? So then I guess this red thong must belong to someone else?

Katie: you know I thought it felt a little drafty today. Guess that must be why.

The three little dots sat on the screen for a while, and I grinned to myself.

Nate: Thanks a lot, now I have to go take a cold shower. I hope you’re pleased with yourself, darlin’

Katie: Enjoy your shower, Nathan.

“Who are you texting?”

Asher’s voice boomed from behind me as I nearly dropped my phone, trying to keep it out of his view.

“None of your business.”

I pulled my phone closer to my chest, locking it so that he couldn’t see that not only I had been texting Nate, but that a photo of the two of us was now my wallpaper.

“You’re so weird. Mom and dad want you to come over to take a family photo. Let's go before they blame me for not bringing you back fast enough.”

Rolling my eyes, I followed behind him.

“So, you planning on telling them about Bridget while you’re here?”

Shoving his hands in his pockets, he huffed.

“Remind me why I told you again about her.”

Smiling, I nudged my arm into him.

“Because I’m your favorite little sister and you love me. I’ll tell them.”

Wrapping his arm around my shoulder, pulling me to his side, he laughed.

“Right, I'm sure you would love to spill the beans about my relationship. Don’t worry, I'm going to tell them tonight. I’d like for her to come down when I come back for your birthday, so I may as well tell them now.”

It was nice seeing Asher so happy and in love. Bridget was always nice any time I had talked to her, and from what I could see, she was the one who seemed to make him happy. That’s all I could ever ask for. My brother having true happiness in his life.
