Two minutes later, Melinda scurried in Trinity’s direction and plopped her adorable butt in the chair. “Was my ex flirting with you?”

“Nope,” she said.

“O-M-G. He was. That devil.” Melinda leaned back and adjusted her sunglasses. “It’s been so long since he’s dated. He needs to get out more.”

This was not a conversation Trinity was having with Melinda. Or anyone. She did not plan on dating Emmett—or anyone for that matter. Not anytime soon anyway.

“I think it’s sweet that you and Emmett have a decent friendship after being in a relationship, but that’s not why I’m here.”

“Ugh.” Melinda glanced at her phone. “We’ll have that conversation later. For now, I have to deal with some bed and breakfast business. If you need anything at all, snag someone from my staff.”

“Thanks.” Now, all Trinity had to do was kill time and not think about spending the evening with Emmett.
