At his words, all I can see is red, I swing my leg backwards kicking the bucket that had contained the water across the room, barely missing Jake’s head.

“He fuckin’ pushed her, hurt her!” I growl out furiously. It’s at that moment Jace comes back in with Knox, catching the tail end, confused as to what’s going on.

“HE WHAT?!” Jace growls out over all the commotion, metaphorical steam fuming from his head.

Turning to face him, “His sleazebag of a father hurt our girl.”

“Wait, our girl, you two like to share her, hmmm interesting.” Maxwell interjects, his face showing a curious look of interest.

“Yeah, what about it?” Jace spits out at him, moving closer to him before punching him right in the nose, the cracking sound on impact, letting me know he broke it.

“Hey, hey. No need to get all violent, even though I do love it.” Maxwell says, as he sticks out his tongue swiping it across his lip, catching the blood dripping from his nose. “Mmmm, I love the metallic taste of blood, gets my dick stirring.”

“Can you all stop for a fuckin’ minute?” I pause for a moment, rubbing my fingers against the temple of my head to ease the headache I have coming on. “Jace, Knox, it appears Maxwell here hates his father as much as we do. I was workin’ a deal where he helps us get our girl, and in return his father is eliminated.”

Their interest peaked by this new information. We all pull a chair from the table in the dining room and place them in front of him, before taking a seat to make our plans.

“Lucky me, four sexy men all with gazes directed at me. So, Daddy dearest has a party tonight at Maciano’s with some of his more, shall we say, sleazier business partners. That’s your best bet to get her. He plans to show her off there like the prize she is. Added benefit is her father will be there as well. Let me go and I can get my brother in on the plan, take care of the guards that are pro-daddy.”

“How do we know we can trust you if we let you go?” Knox, before anyone else, asks.

“Well pretty boy, guess that’s where the trust comes in.” he says, and I want to puke at the way he’s eyeing Knox up and down.

I glare at him, internally debating what to do. If we let him go and he’s lying to us, then he’s able to warn them and we could lose Arizona right out from under our fingertips. Then, there is the remote chance he’s telling the truth and willing to help us and we get our girl back.

I look around the room, staring each of the men in the eye. One wrong choice, and we could lose our girl forever.

Stalking over to the asshole, I lean over, getting right into his face. “You stab us in the back and I’m comin’ for you. Our girl gets hurt anymore, I’m comin’ for you. I’ll make you pay. Understand asshole?”

“Bash, what the fuck man, you don’t know if you can trust him and this could put Arizona in more danger.” Jace says, his concern for our girl heavily laced in his voice.

“I agree.” Knox pipes, his voice flooded with anger.

“Knox, you’re not in the club so you have no say, Jace, do well to remember your place as well. If the fucker stabs us in the back he’s dead. We’re gettin’ our girl back, make no mistake about that.” I tell them authoritatively, well aware of my position in the club.

“Oh Daddy, I like it when you get all forceful like, has my dick tingling. But, I understand. You get your girl, Daddy dearest ends up dead, and Malcolm and I get to handle the ass who killed our sister.” he says, sliding out his tongue across his lips, before puckering up and blowing me a kiss.

I’m pretty sure I just vomited in my mouth.

Reluctantly I move in closer and began to undo the ropes, freeing him and praying to God I’m not making a mistake.

The ride to the doctor’s office is pure torture. The sleazeball keeps a tight grip on my thigh the entire time as we sit in the back of the limo. Each time I attempt to move away from him, and closer to the window, his grip tightens more and I can feel his nails pierce my skin, bruises already starting to appear. Malcolm sits across from me, eyeing everything.

I almost didn’t notice, but a slight clearing of his throat pulls my attention to him and the glare he cast on his father as he fists his hands. Was I missing something? Alexander seems oblivious to his son as he continues his phone conversation, all I could make out was it has to do with some upcoming deal and it doesn’t sound legal.

Not wanting to look at the men in the car, I stare out the window, taking in the view of different buildings from my hometown. I’m so lost in my daze, I don’t even realize when we pull up outside the clinic. It’s a large brick two story building with a sign reading, Ted Hastings, MD PLLC. The driver pulls up in front of the door, then stops. He leaves the car running as he exits the driver’s side, moving around the car, and opens the passenger rear door.

“Come on, time to get you checked. I’m ready to enjoy the money I spent on you.” Alexander says as he exits the car. Reluctantly I slide across the seat towards him, before stepping out into the sunlight, pain hitting me as soon as my foot hits the ground.

“Remember not a word, but how I said you hurt your arm and ankle. Malcom, pick her up, I need to appear the doting fiance and we don’t have all day. We still have dinner tonight.” he continues as he walks towards the door to the entrance of the building. I’m shocked when I actually see him pull it open, and holds it open as Malcolm enters, with me in his arms.

Alexander heads towards the reception desk, while Malcolm heads towards the chairs in the waiting area. I scan the room, looking for any chance to escape or a way to slip a note to someone but the room is empty of everyone but us. Alexander stands at the counter and I want to puke at the way the receptionist is throwing herself at him, all but kissing his ass.

Looking over to Malcolm, I take a chance. “What will it take for you to help me escape? I shouldn’t have to pay for my father’s debts.”

He stares at me for what seems like an eternity, but in reality it’s only a few minutes. His eyes have a penetrating effect as he looks at me, before he finally speaks. “No, you don’t. But you need to play along with him, be what he wants.” He turns his head to focus on the television on the wall but I hear words mumbled so low I don’t know if he even meant for me to hear. “For now at least, just a little longer.”
