“It’s fine Miranda. Don’t be sorry or feel bad. I made the choice to come back here for my family.” The last part rolling off my tongue in waves of disgust.
I’d just put on the lavender, v-cut blouse that went with the black pencil skirt when none other than Alexander himself comes in the door, twin B, who I now know is named Malcolm, slithering in close on his heels like a snake.
“Good, you’re ready. Let’s go so we can get this over with. I’m eager to get your clean bill of health, so I can fuck my money’s worth out of you.” Malcolm swoops me up in his arms and heads across the room, Alexander taking the lead, heading out in front of us.
Jace
The Previous Night
We decided to fly versus taking our bikes, and luckily Draco has access to a private jet. Something I’m definitely going to check into. We arrive in her hometown around four in the afternoon, and head straight to her father’s home to stake it out after securing rooms at a nearby hotel, which Draco made sure to upgrade to better accommodations. He claims he wants our girl to be brought back to a room of comfort.
We weren’t expecting was the increased security around the home, which had me thinking she’s here not somewhere else, which meant whoever took her probably is too. Bash was back at the hotel with Draco using their combined resources to find out who the money came from, while Knox, me, and the men who came set up a perimeter around the home, waiting. The rest of the guys each took a man with them, Sam to the east, Javier to the west, Earl to the south and we had the north covered.
The waiting was killing me, and I could tell it’s doing the same to Knox the way he’s chewing nervously on his nails. Earl had relented, against his better judgment, to allow Knox to be part of the stake out.
We sit here waiting and waiting, then finally as the evening grows closer to dinner time we notice an influx of cars pulling into the property, gate security checking them in. It’s at the same time Bash appears behind us, quietly moving to my side.
“Come with me, Jake is going to stay here while we meet with the others, I know who has her now.” Nodding my head in understanding, I stay low and follow behind him, Knox close behind me. We continue moving, converging over by a truck parked in the coverage of the trees. Javier, Sam and Earl are already there waiting. Ryker and the rest of the boys wanted to come, but Earl refused, saying they needed to be with Ash, especially with her being pregnant.
Bash reaches inside the truck, pulling his laptop from the passenger seat, powering it up and typing something in before turning it our way to show us the screen.
“This is Alexander Jamison, he’s one of the most sadistic people you’ll ever meet and head of the Jamison crime family. He’s also the fucker who has our girl. He has his hands in almost every shady deal in this town. The next two are his sons, Maxwell and Malcolm, equally sadistic, but after some diggin’ it appears they may not be so loyal to their father. It’s not going to be easy to get her out, but I’m not leavin’ here without her.” He looks at us, meeting us with his steel willed eyes.
“Ya think the wonder twins would betray their father?”
“I was thinkin’ the same thing Jace, do they have any beef with him, anythin’ we can use to sway them to our side?” Earl pipes in, asking the question we all are thinking.
“There might be, it seems there was a daughter, Juliana. She disappeared out of the picture for a year, then she was mysteriously found. Some kids were playing in an abandoned junkyard and came across her decomposing body. Autopsy showed she had every bone in her body broken, some healed others fresh, as well as extensive sexual assault. To top it off, she was estimated to be about five months pregnant from the autopsy performed on the baby when it was extracted from her. Curious thing is that the missing persons report has a discrepancy. The timestamp shows it was placed two days after her body was found. The fucker’s who did it are good, but not as good as me.”
The mention of the baby she was pregnant with has us all gripping our hearts. Especially after Ash lost her first baby in such a violent way.
“The fucker needs to die!” Knox, the last person I ever expected, says.
“So we wait, watch, and search for the twins. I bet one of them will be nearby and we can convince them to help us, or kill’em if they don’t.” Bash barks out gruffly.
We all head back to our spots and wait. As it got darker we moved the truck closer to us, but still out of sight, it’s black color blending into the night.
It seems like an eternity, but luck finally comes calling and we spot a car pulling out around eleven, and low and behold, one of the twins is served up to us on a silver platter. Bash already has his laptop out hacking into the city’s cameras and the DMV, pulling up the license plate information for the car as I jump in behind the driver seat. Knox, Jake and Bash following suit, jumping into the truck and we peel out and follow him.
He drives for about forty-five minutes before pulling up in front of a converted warehouse, the marquis on the building reads Clamps.
From the attire and clientele of people entering, we know we’ll never get in so we sit and wait, planning how we’ll take him. Bash opens a bag that was tucked down in the floorboard and pulls out a bottle and a rag.
“What the hell is that?”
“Chloroform, it’ll knock his ass out. Josh told me what to get, to cause the least distraction and attention from people. So we simply wait, I’ll crouch close by his car, when his back is turned to open the door I’ll pop up behind him, cover his mouth and nose and hold tight until it knocks him out. Then, you two will help me tie him up and get him into the car. I already have an address for an abandoned house out in the middle of nowhere secured for us and the address in the GPS ready to go.” Man, you have to love his mastermind plan.
We have to wait a few hours. Which gave Bash time to research the club, yielding no answers, which meant it was truly a need to know basis and something on the shady side. With each passing minute I grow more impatient and I begin to snap at everyone.
“Cuz, I love you man, that’s why I’m goin’ to go and find a prime spot to hide near his car. It’s gettin’ close to the time I would expect for the club to be closin’ and if I stay here, I’m liable to cut your fuckin’ throat.” He grabs his bag, opens the door and hops out, weaving between the cars to the one we followed here.
I watch as he moves into place and disappears from sight. Man he’s good.
It’s another thirty minutes before we see him exit the building, a stumbling girl, clutched under his arm, heading for his car. We weren’t expecting a witness, but now we have one.
Bash must be thinking the same thing. I slowly exit from the truck, knowing he’s going to need a little bit of help, and head his way.
Bash comes up behind the twin, we really need to find out which one we have. Just as he moves his arm away from the girl to pull his keys from his pocket, Bash pounces on him, placing the rag over his face and wrangling him down to the ground, where he can use his body weight to hold the struggling man in place while the chloroform takes effect.
