“Oh baby, I would need a shower.” he jokes as he walks towards me, handing me my cup before beginning to speak again. “I don’t wear underwear, it would be all down my legs.”
We both erupt in a fit of laughter as I grab my book bag and head out of my apartment with Knox following behind me. He closes and locks my door behind us.
We head down the stairs side by side, with him telling me about his statistics class today and how he hopes he doesn’t get the same teacher he had last term for his prerequisite class. Apparently he was a real ball buster.
Knox opens the passenger door for me allowing me to take a seat before shutting it. He really is going to make some girl an amazing boyfriend, but the thought of him with someone else makes me sick.
He then moves around the car, and slides into the driver's seat. Turning the key in the ignition, he backs out of the parking spot, and pulls out onto the main road.
The drive to the school is quiet and my eyes grow heavy from the gentle vibrations of the engine. I try to fight to keep them open, but lose the battle.
“Wake up sunshine. We’re here.” I hear through the haze in my brain, as I feel someone shake my shoulder, and slowly I wake from my catnap.
“Did we have a long night?” Knox asks, he had voiced his concern to me the other day when he saw my early morning schedule, knowing how late it was when I got home from the club. Could he be even more perfect, he’s going to make some girl a great boyfriend. I can’t help the pang of heartbreak mixed with jealousy I feel when I think of him with someone else.
“Yeah, but I got it. I have my coffee, it just needs to get into my system. If only I could have it via an IV drip.” I tell him jokingly.
We both exit the car and walk side by side towards the Psychology wing. Knox's class is in the building past mine so he’s being my personal escort this morning.
“See you at twelve for lunch. Want to eat here or just head back to the apartment and whip something up there, since we’ll both be done for the day?” he asks.
“I’m good with either one. If we go home, we can watch a movie while we eat. So I vote for takeout, maybe chinese. We could play fortune cookie roulette.” I tell him as I wave goodbye, then open the door to the building and head inside.
As I walk down the hallway, I look at the room number on my paper once again, scanning the numbers on the door before finding the right room. I enter the classroom, looking around at the already filling class, and decide to head to an open seat in the middle.
I smile at the girl sitting to my right before sliding into a seat, pulling the textbook for the class, my notebook, and a pen out of my bag before setting it on the floor.
I hear the door shut and look up.
Holy fucking hell!!
