I stared at him and ground my teeth so hard my mouth hurt. "Where does he live?"

"So that's it? You're all out of information?" I asked.

I nodded. "You're right. There are consequences."
I stepped back and squeezed the trigger. My captive's brain decorated the man in front of me and flew back into my face. His eyes widened as he stared at me before realization kicked in and he scrambled for his gun.
But it was too late. I shot him in the chest and he stumbled back in shock. I squeezed off another round into his head and watched the light fade from his eyes as he collapsed onto the floor.
I wiped my arm over my face and gazed down at them. Whatever they were to each other, I hadn't been cruel. One wouldn't have to survive without the other. Not like I did it to be nice. If I had more time and an empty room, I would have shredded them in front of each other until their brains broke.
