Calix
My body throbbedas I laid in the bed and stared up at the ceiling. My instinct was to roll out of bed and hit the ground running, but if I moved an inch I would be in pain. I remembered the pills that Gabriele's doc had given me. I hadn't taken all of them and now I was grateful because I needed to take the edge off.
I reached into the nightstand and groaned as my body protested. Between training, MMA fights, and the underground bouts that I had agreed to, my body was ready to quit. I had never pushed myself so hard in my life and I regretted it.
"Oh shit, come on," I growled as I made myself move forward and dug around in the drawer. My hand closed around the pills and I flopped back onto my pillow. "Yes!"
Moments like this, I wished I had someone there to care for me. A warm hand and soft voice to soothe me and tell me to keep going. Because the truth was that I wanted to give up. If the people I gave a damn about wouldn't suffer, I would have disappeared by now.
I shoved the pain pill in my mouth and snatched a bottle of water toward me. As soon as the rim touched my lips, I chugged it down and only stopped when I had to take a breath. "Thank God."
My phone buzzed somewhere beside my leg, but I ignored it. Whoever thought it was a good idea to bother me was wrong. I wanted to lie in bed and pretend my muscles weren't on fire for a little while. I closed my eyes and sighed as I let the pain pill kick in.
"You look comfortable."
My eyes snapped open and my heart beat so hard I could barely breathe. Sunlight streamed through my window where it had been barely light before. Did I fall asleep? I didn’t have time to think about it. As I looked for the source of the voice I frowned as I came face to face with Gabriele.
Shit.
"What are you doing here?" I snapped, shoving myself up and against the headboard as I glared at him. "I changed the locks!"
"That's a waste of time and money," Gabriele said as he glanced down at me. "I know how to find my way in."
"Like a roach," I sneered. "What do you want?"
Gabriele sat on the edge of my bed. "Where did you get those bruises?"
I stared at him like he'd lost his damn mind. "You're still on this shit? What is wrong with you?" I hissed as I turned to climb out of bed and cried out when my wrist lit up like it was on fire. I looked around wildly. Each of my wrists was circled with a cuff and they pressed together. "What the- Gabriele!"
He tapped a cigarette into his palm and slipped it between his teeth. "Yes?"
"L-let go of me!"
"Why?" Gabriele asked as he lit up and smoke curled into the air. "I've waited for you to give me a good answer for days and you refuse to cooperate. So, here we are." He waved a hand. "You can tell me or I find some creative ways to get the truth out of you.”
I licked my lips and felt how dry my mouth was. How long had I been asleep? I couldn't My disoriented brain reeled.
"Let me go," I snapped. "I'll call the..." I trailed off as I remembered that Gabriele's family probably owned the cops. "Shit."
"Good boy," he said, as he chuckled and pet my thigh. "You're learning."
"Fuck you," I shouted as I kicked him in the side hard. I shoved away from him and the floor came up to greet me. I hissed as my knees slammed into the wood. "Shit!"
"That was a mistake," Gabriele said, his voice dripping with danger as I tried to get to my feet. Instead, I felt something in the small of my back and I was forced to the ground. "Where are the bruises from?"
"Fuck you!"
Gabriele went quiet and that scared me more than anything. I tried to glance over my shoulder when I heard clinking, but he shoved his foot against my back more firmly and pinned me in place.
"What are you doing?" I demanded.
My boxers were tugged down my hips and my eyes widened. I squirmed, but when Gabriele put more pressure on my back I gave up again. My heart pounded so hard I felt dizzy as I stared straight ahead.
Fire danced along my backside as I shouted and jumped. The feeling faded away in waves before it started all over again. A loud crack echoed through the room every time the pain flared and slowly the realization of what was happening dawned on me.
Gabriele Bianchi was spanking me with his belt.
I let out a gasp as it came down again and a whimper tumbled out of my lips. "Gabriele, stop!"
