"So what the hell am I supposed to do?" I snapped at Amadeo, irritation crawling up my back. "If I let one person get away with not paying their debts, then no one will pay."
The smirk on Amadeo's face never wavered. I shifted in my seat. Nothing good ever comes out of that goddamn stare.
"Weren't you the one that showed Six where my expensive ties were?" he asked. "I'm still restocking my collection after he cut them."
My mouth gaped. Shit, I had definitely helped him with that. "Ama," I growled. "Seriously?"
Laughter erupted around the table and I glared at my family. Assholes.
"Shut up," I grumbled. "Are you all children?"
Nic snickered. "You're just mad because we're laughing at you for once," he said as he pushed his chair back.
I flipped him off before Amadeo cleared his throat.
"That's what I thought," he said as he winked at me. "Figure it out. Calix needs to pay us our money, but you can't take the gym. Find a balance. And let's figure out who these assholes are that want us dead." Amadeo stood up and looked at each of us. "Dismissed."
"Ama," I started.
"Dismissed," he said more pointedly. "I have things to do today. You do your job and I'll go do mine."
I'm going to kill them. Each and every last one of those bastards.
I gathered my stuff and stormed out of there. My brothers and cousins were happy to watch me drown, but I still had a problem to solve. Calix Gonzalez.
Wonder where he is right now?
As I slipped into my car I tried to let the irritation roll off of my back. I should be used to my family screwing with each other. But this time I had to find a way around collecting what we were owed without upsetting Ama's precious boyfriend.
Wonderful. At least I get to see Calix again.
I paused at my own thoughts and frowned. Why the hell would I want to see Calix? He had been on my mind constantly since the night we met ringside and I still couldn't figure out why. At most, he was a distraction.
And I needed to get rid of him.
