“So, it's someone he's angered,” I said. “This is personal?”
The musicians nodded.
“Anything else?”
“Not here,” the violinist said again. “I may have seen something to help you, but—” he glanced over his shoulder and went still when he saw one of the knights staring at us. “Not here. Later, Assassin. Meet me at the fountain in the south garden at 2 a.m.”
I grimaced at the title and his paranoia but agreed. “All right. Thank you. I'll let His Majesty know how helpful you've all been. I'm sure there will be something extra in your pay tonight.”
They all grinned at that.
Then I hurried away. The guests would be arriving soon and before they did, I needed to speak with the King.
