“You're welcome. So, is that a yes?”

“Yes. Is the client ready to meet me?”

“More than ready. Are you able to come with me now?”

“I am.”

“Excellent!” I downed the rest of my drink and shook Fahar's hand. “Good to see you, boss.”

“You too, Lock. Take care of my necro. I want him back in one piece.”

“I'm only escorting him to the Prince. What happens after that, I take no responsibility for.”

Fahar laughed. “Fair enough. And we won't forget your loyalty.”

“Thank you.” I went serious to add, “I've never forgotten yours. You were my family when I needed one.”

Fahar's smile softened.

“Fahar.” Daha stood and bowed to his boss.

“No matter where you are, you are not alone, brother. There are Raltven in the shadows of every city. Call upon your kin if you need them.”

“Thank you. I will do my best to represent our people well.”

I left the Shrieking Ghost with a Raltven necromancer, feeling pretty damn smug.
