Page 80 of Dangerous Love

Hal pulled Sienna’s arm free, his other hand snaking around her throat. He tipped his chin towards my brother. “One more step and he’s gone, son. Your call.”

Fury and helplessness clashed in my veins, my mind screaming a million things that made no sense. Everything in me shook, my limbs barely holding me upright.

“Protect your woman, little bro.” Trey spat in Alexandro’s face. “I can’t wait to meet these two in hell.”

“Oh god,” Sienna screamed. “Let us go, you fucking monster.” Her plea triggered something in my brain and time stopped as I called upon the angel of death to protect us. I turned to her, the fear in her face stabbing at my heart and everything in me ready to kill to protect her. If death was the only way to save her from my father, then so be it. I didn’t care anymore. I’d rather die today than let her get tortured by this pathetic fucking psychopath.

“Baby girl?” I whispered, my eyes locking on Trey. “It’s gonna be okay.”

Alexandro tightened his grip, his gun sliding to my brother’s temple. Trey smirked. “Remember last week?”

I nodded, my fingers stretching and my mind drawing a map of the gun hidden in my waistband. “Sure do. Like riding a bike?”

“Like riding a bike.”

Then, as if reality suspended itself in space, I inhaled, my legs steady on my feet as my hand ripped the gun from behind me.You’ll never touch my family again.

Alexandro’s eyes grazed over me, surprise laced through his features.

Hell’s waiting for you, you bastard.Without hesitation, I pulled the trigger, a sinful pleasure flowing through my veins as I recognized the emotions on the enforcer’s face. Shock.Fear.Acceptance. I didn’t budge when the recoil echoed through the room. Nor when Alexandro’s body dropped flat, head-first, onto the concrete slab.

“Let her go,” I growled, my eyes locked on my father’s. In that moment, there were no doubts in my mind that Sienna would walk out of here unharmed, even if I had to burn the whole fucking place down.

Trey was beside me in less time than it took Cooper to compute what had unravelled in front of him. Our father stood frozen as my gun shifted to his head. “You’ll never pull the trigger, Riley. Deep down, you’re nothing but a pussy. Like your mother and your brother.” Hal spat at my feet. “And I’m glad they’re both dead.”

Rage exploded in my chest like a thousand-year-old volcano. It burnt every fibre of my being. Every ache in my bones, every fear in my soul, and every crippling bout of helplessness I’d ever suffered for being born to this man.

“Don’t think you’ll ever see them again,” I screamed. I’d become a possessed madman with nothing to lose. “Because you’re going straight to hell.” And without one ounce of guilt, I pressed the trigger, shattering my worst nightmare into oblivion.

CHAPTER39

Sienna

Riley’s voice sounded nothing like him anymore. This was a man who’d lost himself. His face was as pale as the two men sprawled out by our feet.

Oh god...Mouth open and eyes wide, Riley’s whole body shook as he stared at his father now lying motionless. The smell of gunpowder lingered in the air, the silence keeping the four of us frozen in place. I grabbed his hand, his fingers clinging to mine. “Riley?” I murmured. When he didn’t respond, I pressed a palm to his chest. “Riley, look at me.”

He glanced up, emptiness floating in his gaze. “I killed my father.”

Behind us, Trey shoved Hal’s body with his foot. “Nope. You killed a son of a bitch who had it coming.” He checked the time on his watch. “But we only have eight hours to sort out our plan B before everyone turns up here.”

I leaned forward and gently lifted Riley’s forearm. My heart broke at the burnt flesh and the blood drying on his skin. I flipped his arm over, tearing up when he winced, and kissed the other side of his wrist. “I love you so much.”

He pulled my chin up, cupping my cheek with one hand. “I’m sorry you had to see this.” He glanced at the nurse behind us before looking back at me. “How did you end up here?”

I swallowed tight, shame stinging me for how stupid I’d been all along. I exhaled a hard breath. “Michael… He was in on it.” I swiped at my wrist where his fingers had imprinted hours ago. “He completely changed after we drove back, and then he dragged me here.”

“I fucking knew it,” Riley growled before he scanned me from head to toe. “Did he touch you?”

I shook my head. “No.” Then I kissed him, the feel of his tongue stroking my mouth reigniting my soul as if we were one.

His body heat enveloped me as his arm wrapped around my waist. He nuzzled his face right above my collarbone. “I’m sorry about everything.” He gripped me tighter. “Si, promise me you’ll build yourself an amazing life no matter what happens.”

My tone rose by a hundred decibels. “The hell I am.” My hands gripped his shoulders, his muscles sinking under my fingertips. “We’re building our amazing lifetogether, Riley Williams,” I cried, a sob racking my body. “Jarryd will get you the best lawyer, and—”

“Shhh,” he hummed in my ear. “Just let me hold you for now.”

Trey cleared his throat. “Guys, we have decisions to make.” He collapsed on the couch next to the nurse.
