He relaxed under my hold. My fingers traced small circles on his chest until his muscles softened like jelly. He sighed. “That feels good.”

“I know. And do you know how I know?”

His eyes closed as he placed his hand on mine, both our fingers now tracing shapes over his chest. He shook his head in silence.

“Because when I was sad, you did this for me. You made me feel better.”

“I shouldn’t have. You need to move on from us. All of us.”

I twisted my torso until I faced him. “Not everyone from your family is painted with the same brush. You gotta let that one go.”

He tipped my chin lightly with his thumb. “Anyone who shares DNA with Hal fucking Cooper is rotten from the inside out. You need to just run, Sienna. Far.”

I pushed his hand away. “No.”

He froze, shock written all over his face. “Yes.”

I shook my head, my finger drifting to his lips. “No.” When he opened his mouth to speak, I pressed my finger harder. “I said no. No more.”

He pulled me closer until my neck was nestled under his chin. “Why does everything feel better when you’re here?”

“Because that’s the way we are together, Riley. I love you.”

“Even if loving me is dangerous?” he murmured as his gaze fell to my lips. Slowly, I lifted myself up and straddled him. My arms snaked around his neck, my forehead resting on his. His breath tickled my cheeks. He closed his eyes, his hands trailing up and down my back, until they settled on my hips. “I can’t stay away from you right now. You need to leave so you keep safe.”

My mouth teased his. “I don’t need protection.”

His lips grazed mine, heat warming my flesh. “I don’t want you getting hurt, baby girl.”

“I won’t.” My mouth caressed his until he surrendered to the inevitable. An electric current zapped me as I pressed a palm to his chest. It increased until his head was millimetres from mine, and his body heat had transferred over to me.

I closed my eyes. The kiss started slow, and as soon as our tongues touched, a fire ignited in him. I felt it through my core as Riley came back to life and held me tighter. His breathing grew heavy, his kiss more passionate.

“God, you need to leave,” he uttered the words without conviction. Instead, he pushed me until my back rested against the mattress, his body sliding between my legs. His mouth nibbled at the flesh behind my ear—small, warm kisses that promised so much more.

I grabbed his face with both hands and forced our eyes to meet. “I love you, Riley Williams.”

He flinched when I said the last name. His eyes darkened, his hands discovering my body with more force. “I’m not a Cooper anymore.”

My calf hooked his until I’d pulled him as close to me as I could. His crotch hardened, and a thousand pins and needles spread through me as my Riley awoke from his daze. “No. You’re a Williams now. You’re good. You’re strong.” I bit his bottom lip as I added, “And you’re the sexiest man I’ve ever laid eyes on.”

He travelled the inside of my thighs, my core stirring with every one of his moves. Our eyes met. Like a light switch had flicked on, Riley’s pupils widened, his mind with me again. His nose nestled against my neck, and he inhaled hard.

“You smell so good. It’s intoxicating.” When he nibbled my flesh harder, all the way down to my collarbone, I quivered, my hand pinning his head against the mound of my breast. His hand cupped it, his eyes pausing on mine. “Do you want me to stop?” he asked.

I bit my lip. “Don’t you dare.” I pressed his hand against my chest until his palm fully covered it, and as if his mind had finally caved, his fingers played with the flesh as I writhed beneath him. Heat spread fast while his other hand gripped the back of my thigh. He lifted it until my leg was curled around his ass. I shifted forward, and he groaned when my pelvis met his. Our kiss grew in intensity until we consumed each other, and the room became brighter, as if it was filled with a thousand fairy lights.

Like a rubber band that finally snapped, he slid his hand under my shirt, exploring me. His fingers unclasped my bra. It loosened between us, and I slipped it off before tossing the undergarment on the floor. I unbuttoned my shirt as I held his stare. His shoulders tightened and his abs clenched, as he helped the material fall away from my chest. Then, with both hands, he uncovered my breasts, his eyes wide.

“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered. His head lowered until his mouth lay bare kisses on my skin, his face discovering me slowly, one inch at a time. He sucked my nipple and grunted, “You don’t know how many times I’ve dreamt of having you like this.”

But I do.“I want you just as much.” My voice trembled as I tried to keep my desire in check, but it was of no use.

My body was on fire. Ignited. Consumed by the man in front of me. I moaned when his tongue flicked my bud, my legs tightening around him. I grabbed his shirt by the hem and yanked it above his head. He shuffled out, and I tossed it across the room. Riley’s solid chest stared back at me, his perfect olive skin glistening. The vein at the base of his neck pulsed as my hand trailed the ridges of his abs, one by one, his legs shaking. Then, I slid my fingers around his waistband and pulled the joggers down. His dick pulsed through his boxers.

“Take your pants off,” I rasped, my core throbbing.

Without a word, he did as he was told, tossing them next to the rest of the discarded clothes, before tilting his head and saying, “I want to see you.”
