“No little mate, Darius is part of our mate group and family no matter what his species is he’ll be treated with the same respect as the rest of us,” he says and it just warms my heart. “Does he need a place out of the sun though?”
“No he actually has a magical tattoo, I don’t know if you saw it last night in all the activities but it makes it so the sun can’t really hurt him. It’s complicated and I don’t understand all the history around it. I just know that it works,” I say with a shrug walking over to the suitcases that Darius brought with him.
“I’m going to have to ask him about that. Do you know which bag is yours?” he asks, looking at the stack of black bags sitting against the wall.
“Knowing Darius it’s probably labeled ‘kitten’,” I tell him, shaking my head at the silly nickname.
“Here it is,” Silas calls, pulling the bag from the bottom without much struggle. I’m actually surprised the tower didn’t tumble over but other than shaking a bit it stays intact.
Taking the bag from him with a smile I pull out a shirt and put it on only to realize that it’s now a crop top. With my pregnant belly there’s no way that my normal clothes are going to fit right now.
“Shit.”
“It’s actually kind of cute,'' he comments as I pull my sweats up under my stomach, leaving it sticking out for everyone to see.
“It’s not cute. And some of your wolves already have a problem with me, without bringing attention to my naked pregnant stomach,” I tell him, putting my hands on my hips.
“If any of my pack give you a hard time I have no problem kicking their ass, no one disrespects my mate,” he growls, before going over and grabbing a black t-shirt and tossing it to me. “I guess you’ll just have to smell like me today.”
“I can see that will really hurt your feelings,” I tease.
“You aren’t going to like or enjoy this too much but we’ll have to have a meeting tonight with the pack to introduce you and Darius,” he comments, putting his own clothes on.
But even his sexy body can’t distract me from his words. Neither me or my cougar are happy about the fact we’ll be in a room with so many wolves even with our mates there. But we’re both just going to have to suck it up because the Rising Moon Pack is a huge part of three of our mates lives.
We can do this. Taking my clothes off in front of a room full of honry men can’t be as bad as meeting the pack.
* * *
We can’t do this.
I don’t think I’ve been glared at so much in my entire life as I am right now. Every female gaze is on me and my clearly pregnant belly.
“Are you sure that baby is even yours? According to Remy she’s a hooker,” a nasally voice calls out from the crowd. All my mates, including Darius who woke up in time to join us for this hell, growl.
“I’m not a hooker. I’m a stripper and Remy knows this, he tends to come and go real quick if you know what I mean,” I say and see a couple ladies nod their heads in agreement.
Damn a two pump chump in the sack too.
“Shut up Barbie, you’re just jealous my girl Jade snagged up all the good men in the pack and you’re stuck with what’s left,” Mila comments from her chair in the back. She’s sitting with the pack but also clearly not part of it, I know exactly how that feels.
“Mila,” Silas warns but there’s no heat behind it.
“Yes Alpha.”
“I really like her, I wish we could keep her too,” Darius whispers in my ear and I can’t help but smile.
I wish we could keep her too, but I have a feeling she has a crazy little future ahead of her.
“Thank you vamp daddy,” Mila calls, giving Darius a wink, clearly hearing his whisper. I’m not sure if he forgot we’re in a room full of supes or if he did it on purpose but it makes Mila smile so it doesn’t really matter.
I think it would be easy to forget by the way she acts and the fact that Silas and I overshadowed her with our combined trauma that Mila was in the cage with us too. She suffered at the hands of the witches just as much as we did. She hides it behind the mask of humor but if you know her a little you can see it, like the way she made sure her chair is in the back with the wall behind her. Even if Mila doesn’t recognize it, her wolf is protecting her. My cougar used to do the same thing for me when we first escaped Wren.
“The baby is mine biologically, the witches just did something that pushed the birth into hyper speed,” Silas explains and now some of the wolves look afraid of me.
Great. So either they hate me or fear me.
“She’s not a spaceship, Silas,” Jace says with a sigh, before getting up and walking around the front of the table. I’m currently sitting in Silas’ Alpha throne or whatever with Bell to my right and Dar standing behind me. Silas was in front trying to talk to the pack but clearly he’s a little rusty.
